Why is it that Obama and Clinton are considered Celebrity Candidates, but not Edwards?
I was thinking about this after reading something from Edwards and hearing his speech. IS it the national media attention that makes them "celebrity candidates?" I mean from what I've seen, Obama has had the support of Oprah, but nobody marches out more celebrities to campaign for him them Edwards, who has sent out Jackson Browne, Bonnie Rait, Kevin Bacon, Tim Robbins, and John Mellencamp. Guess I'm just confused.

1. Yes. It's about being a brand. I'm sick of brands with no product.
I won't vote for them anymore. I don't trust them.

5. I guess there's nothing glamorous about
being a populist candidate, someone who represents poor working people, someone who doesn't have an Oprah or a Bill Clinton to dress things up a bit.

8. They ARE celebrities........
... because of the fact that Barack Obama is the first black American, and Hillary Clinton is the first American woman to run for the presidency?

Ya think maybe that is an historic occasion to be celebrated?

12. The media does not want to hear about poverty.
How often do you see news reports on the pervasive poverty in America? It just isn't news. And then Edwards does not have an Oprah. Face it. Oprah is afternoon TV. That is why Hillary did not do as well with women as you might have expected. Oprah is like a member of the family to millions of American women.

13. Edwards is a progressive who potentially could really, truly crack down on the corporate state
He's white, he's male, he's good-looking, he's married with children, he's southern -- he's everything they're afraid of when it comes to a progressive candidate.
