"Your time is now" versus "Our time is now"
"Your time is now." That was the sign posted on Edwards' podium last night. Obama has been using the theme: "Our time is now."

Why did Edwards do that? What is the difference between the two? What do they mean? What message is Edwards trying to send: in using that message, and in using a nearly identical message that Obama used with one word changed? What message is Obama trying to send?

Discuss please.

1. Was this after Obama had won? It might mean enjoy it while you can.
But that seems like a funny message from Edwards. From everything I've read, Iowa was do or die for him.

If it was before Obama had won, it might have been a message to his supporters to get out there and win for him.

2. I think that Edwards' message...
Is highlighting the fact that it is, in face, the people who go out and do the voting, who (in theory) determine the winner of an election. It seems to me to remind people that it is their time to get up and go, so to speak. Put the power back with the people, etc. As for the timing and comparison to Obama's, not sure...

3. This is a good point
Someone else brought this up last night. My take is that Edwards sees himself as a shepherd of the disaffected. Obama sees himself as the leader of a movement.

4. But Obama also used, "YOU said;" Clinton used "YOU know"...
I think the speeches are to rally the supporters... It's part "you" and part "together we can..." etc.
