Another McClurkin thread (or not)

Remember when this issue was front and center and many members voiced their concern over bigoted and discriminatory posts and threads? Lots (and lots)of people told them to lighten up and to quit whining...basically, to let it go.

Sometimes bigotry is bigotry. Sometimes its not, I guess.

I can respect the passion of the gays who are up in arms over this. Obama has apparently offended a key constituency of the Dem party, and he should catch hell over it.

4. Can we please please stop using adjectives as nouns? It is a convenient way

to label (and more easily marginalize) certain groups of people.

5. sigh. Both TooBigaTent and Jones have confused me.

My experience with Jones is his sensitivity to racial issues. The McClurkin deal has facets of both race and sexual orientation, so I'm not sure which part he's talking about and which side he's taking. Or if something specific has cropped up in the past 24 hours. :shrug:

And TooBigaTent -- whose been using an adjective as a noun? I didn't see that on this thread.

(Or is this a case of putting me in a round room and telling me to go sit in the corner.)

sigh.

6. I am just commenting on the many posts recently....

that make accusations of racism (justified in many, if not most, cases) in relation to statements or comments made about Obama. Many of these same individuals were quick to tell members of the GLBT community to stop whining or lighten up in relation to the McClurkin controversy. It is very ironic.
