Accusing people of sexism as a distraction from what is really important. We've debated words like "catty" and "shrill" a hundred times this cycle, and still, when the trouble starts, the game plan goes back to vilifying words.

It's stupid, and dare I say, "shrill" and it keeps us from having serious discussions where we're allowed to use adjectives freely.

5. If you know the words "catty" and "shrill" will trigger this response
why continue to use them?

7. Because I'm not going to be told what words I can use to describe someone...
by shrill reactionary supporters of a candidate who fits the words.

22. So you want to be able to use sexist vocabulary without being challenged on it.
Tough.

18. It's called intentional instigation.
The OP is fully aware of the response it will engender (pun not intended).

8. because if something or someone you love/like/are passionate about
starts to falter/loose steam/ mess up/ whatever you wanna blame it on something, why not use blame and accuse people of something in the same breath?

11. because sometimes you can be sexist and not know it...
or: racist, misogynist, etc.

For instance, I was a racist until my two sisters married white men, (I'm Afr. Am.) DIDN'T KNOW I WAS 'TIL THEN THOUGH! :) :) :) :) :)

12. It is sexist, I have to admit...
but sadly, I was desparately grabbing for the wine as a buffer when she started "screeching". Women's voices are higher, and when they get excited, it can hurt ones head (I am female, btw). I grew up with a mom who screeched when she was upset or excited and there is no worse sound in the world, especially if your nerves are taut. I'm glad she's relaxed now. Men just don't screech as much (okay, except for Dean that one time, and I really don't want to go there again).

13. "Like she's done tonight"
You're pretty well losing whatever credibility that you had with some of these obtuse remarks.

17. It takes away from whatever point you're trying to make.
There are plenty of words to use that wouldn't garner that reaction. When you choose to use them knowing that reaction will happen don't complain about said reaction. If you really want to discuss issues then I assume you're smart enough to choose words that will further that discussion and not hinder it.

20. I'm a woman and a feminist (I LOVE that word!) but I'm not a Hillary Clinton fan....
.... I think anyone who attacks her for being a woman is a sick sob. However, I don't think she's ever reached out like Edwards to the folks who make up the poorest of the Two Americas. I suppose being married to a president felt like a huge edge. I wonder sometimes what she really would do if president for those who are the neediest. Judging from what I've seen so far, not very much, and I'm not saying that to be mean. I'm just getting that image, whether or not it's the image her advisers intended.

21. Oh please. YOU are interested in having serious discussions?
Post after post after post...all I ever read from you is sexist foam-at-the-mouth claptrap.

You are a non-player in the "serious discussion" contest. Run along home, now.
