Edwards won hands down tonight
I'm an Obama supporter but I gotta give credit where it is due. Edwards brought his A game tonight and really got his message across.

The rest of them did alright, but no other spectacular performances.

1. Edwards was on-message, clear, passionate and presidential.

Obama did no harm to himself, but no real overarching message or theme was left by him.

2. Yep. But you know what? I just want change, big change for my country.
This country has been so beaten down by Republicans since Reagan, and it's really time to reverse the damages done. It's not going to be easy, Repukes have done so much to hurt our country, but these two, Edwards and Obama, have really made me think that perhaps it IS going to happen!!!

6. As a W. Coaster, I am still dragging through the Repugs.
What a joke. I can barely stand it.

Glad Edwards did well.

I concur. Edwards was the hands down winner proving himself to be the ANTI-CORPORATE candidate that is needed.

I don't want someone to make nice with Republicans.

I want them crushed into oblivion. That takes BATTLE, not "bi-partisanship".

See Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi Impeachment is off the table if you want to see what bi-partisanship gets you.

This country needs a DRAMATIC CORRECTION LEFT. That means no Hillarys.

I'll take an Edwards/Obama ticket.

Excellent teamwork.

13. Yes, there was a double team against hrc tonight between
obama and edwards. But I saw the fire and passion come from hrc when she realized what the game plan was from those two. She came back firing on all cylinders and you can call it whatever you want too, but I say this was one of hrc's best comebacks against those two and she scored points against them......

Oh I could go on one hell of a rant here and say, it takes two men to team up against hrc to win, but hrc stood her ground against em both....Obama looked so lackluster in his performancec and his answers were at times incoherent. I have always said that obama giving speeches is hard to beat but get him in an enviroment like tonight or one on one and you get answers i e bush.

Oh and one other point. when charles brought up the question of the surge and hrc was asked first to respond she was direct in her answer and gave praise to the troops and spoke about the 23 deaths.....Richardson follwed and did mention the deaths and the troops. Edwards, I cannot recall, but Obama in his answer did not say anything about the troops nor of the 23 deaths.....

15. You probably missed Edwards speaking of the thousands of veterans sleeping under bridges tonight
However, I really think it is silly at this point to try to "pretend" that ANY of our candidates do not support the troops, isn't it?
And by the way, a few carefully planned and inserted words during a debate really is NOT support, is it?

12. No, he is trying to knock Hillary out early so it's between him and Obama.
Thats the only chance he has at this point.

16. No guarantee that the front runner will keep getting stronger.
If you noticed after the debate, they polled the audience about what issues were most important. The economy was by far. So as we head into recession, the progressive populist may catch fire. I think what we saw tonight is Clinton trying to be included as one of the change candidates, but she isn't. She's the status quo candidate riding her husband's coat tails from the 90's as she brought up in the debate. It's no longer the 90's and Clinton economics like NAFTA is a large part of the economic problem.
