Edited on Sun Jan-06-08 03:35 AM by Windy
You know, that's the problem we have in our pop culture society. People vote for or support someone they "feel" special about or have a gut instinct about with out looking at the last few decades of someone elses professional resume, padded or unpadded. He has not been packaged and managed to deliver that perfect soundbite or attack message to play the game of dirty politics better than the next guy (or gal). Obama, with his flowery, motivational and inspirational speech is the candidate that we need need to decry. He's not been in politics his entire life, or at least not in the last few decades. He's not seasoned. He dangerous because he is idealistic. He's a dreamer and we just can't have that!!! You know, because a dreamer is not a doer... He is just the same old devil.... you know the type, people like MLK, JOHN F. KENNEDY, ROBERT KENNEDY, MALCOLM X, MAHATMA GANDI, LEC WALESA...

2. But I make a valid point. Hillary's argument that words mean nothing is baseless.

6. It's the cynicism people are sick of
I listened to her go on and on about China a while ago. That we can't be a dumping ground for their shoddy products.

Well cheerist, they're the ones that brought it to us.

So many things that are wrong now can be traced right back to their centrist policies. Nobody confronts her on any of it.

8. And Obama has a foundation to build on. His years as a community organizer
and as a lawyer advocating for the disenfranchised are a great foundation. He spent about 7 years doing that. His understanding of the Constitution and the nuts and bolts of passing legislation on the state level are also impressive to me.

12. Don't be absurd. So what? So what if there are thousands
of people who have also walked the walk, they're not running for president. What a splendid inanity your comment was. Oh, and if you want to be that silly, let's add on his 3 years in the U.S. Senate. Now there aren't thousands or even hundreds with that record.

4. A Wing And A Prayer Will Not Beat The Republicans
The last 7 years has demonstrated that convincingly.

You want to beat the Republicans, you need a fighter.

Get real folks!

15. But some of us have heard it all before.
Promise us anything and we'll respond with a resounding, "Yes, please!!!." But I'm applying higher standards, beginning with an example of someone who can work well with others. Getting into positions is one thing - I was looking for distinction.

Dreams are necessary, but visions are part of every political campaign. I, for one, will not take my eye off strengths which have been shown to contribute to effective administrations.

I hope we can agree that all the Democratic candidates have good intentions and positive visions. Charisma is appealing, but I won't be charmed by words alone.

21. But I don't find him the least bit inspirational!
Yeah, his 2004 DNC speech practically had me in tears, but he's bored me since then.

I get the feeling that his inspiration is manufactured when I watch him now
