Why is it that during the debates, Edwards only chooses to go after Hillary & nobody else?
even though Obama is just as much the one to beat as Hillary is, probably even more so?

Anyone else notice how Edwards has never gone after any of the men during the debates? OTOH, when some of the candidates have gone after Edwards, including little Dennis Kucinich, Edwards has consistently shrunk like a little mouse.

WTF is he afraid of, that one of the guys is gonna put a whoopin on him if he so much as glares at them during a debate? What a wimp.

3. He's for change alright. He changes his positions every 4 years to suit the mood of the primaries

4. it's called strategy
Edwards is smart to try to take out Hillary first. But he's ultimately fighting an uphill battle either way.

It's like, to use a weird alalogy - when Andre The Giant used to compete in Battle Royals - and every wrestler, whether good guy or bad guy, used to team up to take him out. Then when Andre got tossed out, they went back to attacking eachother.

You eliminate the biggest threat - which is Clinton, and then go after eachother. Clinton is the Andre the Giant of the 2008 campaign. Edwards is like Ric Flair, and Obama is like the Rock.

13. Maybe you're right about the VP thing.
I think he knows he doesn't have a chance, so the only way to get in the WH is by riding on Obama's coattails? Trouble is, there is no way Obama would go for it, so he's wasting his time if that's his motive.

11. Hail Mary Pass
He can't win NH, so his hope is to try to knock Hillary down to number 3 (current polls have him down15-19 points from Obama, so he can't beat him). I don't think that will happen, but it did help Obama. Actually, maybe people will come to her defense.

I wouldn't mind that. Or at least a cabinet spot in the Obama Administration.

15. Cause he's in it "for the long haul?"
I think he should "haul" his ass back home and spend some quality time with his family, especially Elizabeth. His "Two Americas" did not work any better than his "Status Quo" nonsense is working now. I believe that people tired of his crying poor about his mill town upbringing/poverty when so many people experienced even greater poverty and many still do. Do they really want to constantly hear about how HE improved his lot? To some it might be a complete turn-off and some may even look at him and imagine that his life is somewhat incomplete if he does not attain the title of the "World's Most Powerful MAN." Go home John...

16. Why wouldn't Hillary be a natural target for Edwards?
If he is basing his candidacy on uprooting the entrenched political establishment and the corruption that goes with it, why wouldn't he target the most obvious beneficiary of that system on the stage?

If Hillary can't take the spot-light, then who's really the wimp?

17. Edwards appears to have a two-part strategy
Edwards revealed how he'll frame his opponents when he was on Olbermann last week......

He said Clinton represented the Status Quo and Obama is the only other "Change" candidate but his approach is "intellectual" and "philosophical"...somebody who "just talks about it, for whom it's more of a political issue...the politicians are going to do the political thing."

His two-part strategy is to pick off one opponent at a time. First he's distinguishing the Change-Makers from the Status Quo, then later he'll distinguish the Change-Makers, one from the other. When it’s Obama’s turn to be the target, he’ll be painted as a same old-same old - gasp - politician, which will soon become a dirty word (and a handy frame in which to hang the GOP candidates too, if/when he earns the Dem nomination!)

Nothing "wimpy" but strategically brilliant, imho.

21. Purely tactical
He thinks if he can winnow the field down to Obama and himself, enough Clinton-supporters will shift to him, either because they get pissed at Obama or because they wil be nervous about nominating a black man.
