Attention Evangelicals
Some of you have shown that you do not understand your place in the electoral system. Let us remind you.

Your job is to be a reliable voting block for the GOP. You are to flock to the polls to vote against the Democrats whenever the Republicans say so. In return, GOP candidates will use the words like "values" and "family" in their speeches and will come out nominally opposed to abortion and the "homosexual agenda." That's the deal.

Allowing a bunch of Bible thumpers to actually RUN the Republican Party was never on the table.

Please give up this Mike Huckabee stuff ASAP and line up behind Rudy Giuliani, as per your original instructions.

-- Sincerely, the Republican Powers That Be.

1. ROFL! Good one. :)
I know it's not a nice way to be, but I have just zero respect for evangelicals. :(

2. think about it
if Huckabee wins the nomination, he's going to lose bigger than any of the other candidates

this is a perfect opportunity for real Republicans-smaller government, less taxes, etc-to take their party back from the religious right

Huckabee could make Utah competitive with all his Mormon comments

3. actually i don't think you are to far off the mark
i truly believe that the PTB wanted rudy to win in a landslide to contineau the war on terror. I don't think they factored in america becoming unified in its opposition to the war (70% is as close as well get to unified) or the fanatical religious getting huckabee as a serious contender. This election is blowing up in their face.
