5. Obama is not fit to lick JFK's soiled undershorts...
THAT's what a DEMOCRAT sounds like - we don't NEED or WANT "bipartisanship" crap...

What this country needs and WANTS is a good dose of DEMOCRATIC PARTISANSHIP as ass kicking...

6. PLEASE NOTE!
That NO Obamite ever comes near a post which causes COGNITIVE DISSONANCE!

When their shallow and hollow sloganeering candidate is actually matched up to the reality, is that Obama or JOHN EDWARDS!

Tsk, tsk....but hey, they do make great slogans everyday.

22. Ok, Mr. keyboard psychologist
Cognitive Dissonance is a good term to use, especially in a political setting, but after a while, it gets really really annoying. All politics are based on cognitive dissonance, but most people just call it rationalization.

What I wouldn't give to hear one of our Democrats -- any of them -- take on the neocon asswads like that.

13. This is a bad comparison
Kennedy was speaking to a Democratic audience about electing Democrats to Congress in order to counteract Nixon.

This is nothing like Obama talking about unity while running for President. If you want to make a comparison, compare it to when Obama was traveling around the country in 2005 and 2006 campaigning on behalf of Democrats so we could stand up to George W. Bush.

I guess people will hear what they want to hear though.

16. I remember Obama's stirring speech when he campaigned for Lamont
Compare JFK's speech to Obama's kumbaya BS. JFK understood what type of people we are up against.

18. JFK had Republicans in his Administration
That clip was when he was campaigning in the GE. He didn't govern that way at all.

19. Bipartisan cabinets are not unusual
Even Bush had a Democrat in his cabinet for many years. That didn't stop him from having a take-no-prisoners approach to Democrats.

20. Yeah let's have more of that
Don't you get it? Americans are sick of "take no prisoners".

Kennedy was not a vindictive President the way Bush is.

And if you haven't noticed, Obama is beating the "take no prisoners" Clinton machine.

23. Right.
This is one of two GD-P posts that is using this clip to "prove" JFK didn't believe in working with republicans. It is evidence of either a very shallow knowledge of JFK, or purposeful distortion of Kennedy.

His entire political career showed an ability to work with people in both parties. Anyone who is familiar with his career knows that Kennedy and Nixon were friends, though the 1960 election obviously involved competition between them. The campaign also allowed JFK to showcase his sense of humor, and those who are interested in reading some of the better examples of his humor in the '60 election can read "The Kennedy Wit."
