This time, in straight voting situation, maybe Edwards outsmarted the others by early campaigning in this symbolic leader. Maybe the others did not. Just maybe, when all are really campaigning to the local vote headon Edwards comes out on top for voters. At least he was smart or it shows better grass roots strength or this is just a rural outlier.

Then you have to ask if the rest of the state or anyone in the country has the benefit of making that full judgment or is relegated to TV ads and spin and chaotic word of mouth.
