It's not the end of the world if we lose Obama People...
Maybe we needed to be brought back down to Earth a little bit. This win means it will likely go all the way to Super Tuesday...no coasting to the nomination it seems. Clinton is maintaining a steady number of votes on Obama...

2. agreed. and it does allow for Americans to be involved fully
rather than have one person seal up a nomination so early. I am loving it. I hope a different Repuke wins every state so that turns into a giant cluster of people holding their noses and voting for the least of the worst.

My only regret was that Edwards couldn't show better tonight.

3. Perhaps it is...it will show how easily the vote can be stolen irrevocably.
Anyone believing that the polling has been wrong for over a week, that the strong turnout has been wrong, that the support for Obama has been wrong -- and that Hillary suddenly surged AFTER the polls closed and Bush's GOP buddies started counting the votes...sheesh...you've learned nothing over the past eight years.

4. I'd rather it goes at least to Super Tuesday....
disclaimer: I'm Edwards 1, Obama 2

I think it's best if primaries go farther before anyone takes a decisive lead. It keeps people from being dismissive about a "couple small states deciding the whole thing."

..very few of their precincts....

6. No, it's not the end of the world.
But a lot of questions will be raised. You're right about down to earth. And that's also good. It hurts, though, and there it is.

But Obama needs momentum more than the others. He's going up against a well-oiled, well-paid for machine.

I do wonder, if Hillary does win New Hampshire, how this will be framed against Iowa and the colorblind storyline. Anything but a win will be a 'defeat' in the press for Obama. Because that's how the press rolls.

Will also have to see how Edwards crew handles this.

Whatever happens, I think Obama himself will handle it with the same grace and class he always has.

Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 09:21 PM by madrchsod
and hillary does`t have it in her to do it. barrack or john have the understanding of what fundamental change means they just differ in their approach. the msm can not allow edwards and obama to dominate the discussion

8. If Hillary wins tonight
it is over and everyone here knows it. Obama has been a terrific candidate with an inspiring message but the Clinton machine will rule in the end. Hell, Hillary managed to do the tear bit followed by the Dick Cheney terror bit yesterday and got away with it. What else do you need to know? Actually it is all a bit depressing but such is life in the Democratic Party.
