3. Partly, I think
if you had asked me earlier today, I would have said no. But I was talking to one of my friends today, and she's a big supporter of Obama's, but she said that seeing that clip made her want to vote for Hillary.

5. Of course. A Hail Mary pass brilliantly timed.
As phony as a $3 bill, and the damned thing worked to perfection.

*choke* Some people are ready, and some people are not *sob*

What a performance.

21. IF you're right...
(I'm still undecided on that), it was a "tactic" that was a one-shot deal, right? I can't see it setting a precedent for her campaign now.

I voted "partly," and just afterward heard some analysis on the teevee suggesting it was partly the emotional "event," partly that women in particular didn't like the "piling on" they saw after Iowa, and partly that Obama voters didn't turn out as much because pre-vote polling indicated they had this one well in hand already.

Makes sense. Hard to say where it goes from here though -- for me at least. I'm just not that prescient.

13. Perfectly Timed and Maintained.
Remember that she is a politician she KNOWS how to make people support her short term.

Get ready to see her other tricks in the future.

If she gets elected I just hope she will fund fusion development.

or maybe the difference between women voters in Iowa versus New Hampshire

16. She'll pay later when voters realize they got played. I expected
a sympathy bounce for her. I also expect that once voters down the line digest the play they will not be pleased.

18. If people are that easily swayed
then no wonder we're in the mess we're in. And it doesn't matter if it's the tears or the supposed attack, or whatever, it's nothing to base a damn vote on. Good god.

19. Women who decided today preferred Hillary by only seven points
That isn't enough to explain Obama's overnight collapse of epic proportions.

20. This guy said it best about Hillary's act:
Give me a break. If Hillary hasn't broken down into tears at Walter Reed, or on the front lines in Iraq or Afghanistan, or when she was humiliated in front of the entire world by her husband's affairs - she sure as hell isn't crying over the country "sliding backward". And if her own personal ambition is the ONLY thing that brings her to tears - well then that tells you everything you need to know about Hillary Clinton.

26. Good point....
From what i had read, Hillary was in tears. Tonight i saw her display of "emotion"replayed. I am sorry if I am wrong, but it didn't look real to me. I have seen men and women cry and break down. It didn't look like that. And Hillary's adding of barbs about Obama in the next breath just makes it all the more suspect.

23. IF Clinton wins, and it is still undecided, it is probably
due more to the differences in the dynamics of caucuses and primaries. Primaries aren't as subject to the arm twisting and deal making that caucuses are, and there is no threshhold of viability. The 5% combined that Richardson and Kucinich currently have instead went to other candidates in Iowa. Here people are at least able to cast their protest votes in good conscience.

25. I don't think it was faked. I've been known as a hard ass bitch for a long time,
but behind closed doors it's a bit of a different story. I swore I would NEVER shed a tear in the workplace because of what that would do to my reputation, but there was one time, and the pressure & anger simply won out.

Even though many of you don't like her, you have to realize she sees what ShrubCo has done to our Country, and she's as upset about it as we are. I think it was good to see that from her.

27. If all it took were a pair of damp eyes to bring down the Great Obama Movement
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 10:32 PM by Jai4WKC08
It wasn't much of a movement, was it?

Not that I'm saying it's over. But it has hit a major stumbling block. Even if she doesn't end up ahead tonite, it's a win. Obama was supposed to kick her ass in NH.
