Is there sexism toward Obama?
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 09:13 AM by Meldread
Hillary turned out the women vote big time in NH. They rallied around her as if she were a wounded animal, and many people suspect that this may have happened because Obama and Edwards were somewhat tag teaming her. Two guys vs a girl. One of the theories of why Hillary one is that women saw that, and said "We're comin' for you, sister!" Then they rallied.

If Hillary won for this reason, isn't this sexist? Aren't we trying to move past this? A professional woman can stand on her own two feet just like any man. Is Obama going to be handicapped throughout the election by an invisible bubble that is surrounding (and protecting) Hillary?

IMO, if we ever find out what caused NH, and if it turns out to be what I described, Obama needs to pull out Oprah to do some dirty work. Woman vs Woman. That'll be the only way he can deal with her without losing more women.

EDIT TO BE CLEAR: What I am saying is that women turned out to vote for Hillary, not because she was their candidate of choice, but saw her as a woman under fire and gave her their support. This support came ONLY because she was a woman. (In other words, had Hillary been a man she would have lost.) Additionally, this happened in large part because people did not like the media, Edwards and Obama ganging up on her. Finally, I pointed to the fact that if this was what happened then Obama has to find a way to deal with it because it is an issue he will be facing again and again.

1. Perhaps in future primaries Hill should urge women NOT to vote?

3. Clinton won in NH because of the last debate. She proved why she should be elected.

4. First it was "poor Edwards - a white man just can't get a break in America" posts and now
it's expanded to "a man just can't get a break in America" posts.

Whatever.

When is our time ever going to come?

:sarcasm:

Hillary won a primary.
She is a credible candidate.
So are our other candidates; but in New Hampshire Hillary WON.
Get over it, everybody.
Move on.
The process continues.

May the best man or woman win.
