Regarding Kerry's snub: Did Edwards notify Kerry in advance of his decision to run again?
I remember that Kerry was considering running for President again... Did Edwards steal his thunder by re-entering the race?

1. Guess What?
Who cares? If Kerry felt "his thunder" was going to be taken by another Edwards run, that really doesn't say a whole lot about Kerry's "backbone".

2. Ban Endorsements!!
How dare a U.S. Senator with the one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate voice his choice for a candidate!! He didn't fight to count all the votes!! Whoops...I forgot..that doesn't matter anymore!! Ban any re-counts to insure accurate tabulation of our votes!!

3. Oh Please - did I need to put the
sarcasm tag in there? I thought the OP's statement to be disingenuous toward Kerry by somehow inferring that Edwards running this cycle scared the poop out of him so he chose not to run... Sheesh.

talking about Kerry's "back bone" pisses me off...he's still my senator. What is it about him that releases such venom...his voting record?

7. I'm not against Kerry -
and the venom you are referring to just may be because a lot of people who worked on the Dem ticket campaign in 04 are a tad bit pissed that a recount wasn't taken in Ohio, that's the feeling I get from reading posts here and on DKos. I was snarking on my first post, get over it.

4. Does it matter? Edwards didn't owe Kerry anything, and vice versa.
I don't understand all this bullshit of people banking on the rumor that Kerry made Edwards promise he wouldn't run against him in 2008 if they both lost in 2004. And I don't think John Kerry nor John Edwards owed each other anything, and they both were free to run.

Everyone knew John Edwards was going to run again as early as December 2004.

Same with John Kerry, though he changed his mind.

Why would they have to notify each other? Because they ran with each other? So what?

And believe me, John Edwards wouldn't have stolen Kerry's thunder. If Senator Kerry had gotten into the race, no doubt he would have had the support and money to compete.

6. This was not a snub against Edwards, listen to the speech
He takes a jab at Bill when he says Obama really "was against the war from the start". And takes another jab at them and their "false hope" garbage. He doesn't do that to Edwards. This was not directed at Edwards.

Hillary's joining in "the joke" bashing is what killed Kerry's run. Remember?

This is not about John Edwards.
