I see a lot of folks on DU mocking and ridiculing those of us who feel that the Clintons have recently resorted to some racially offensive tactics. Saying we are over reacting treating us like we are crazy people making things up.

But I have simple question for you. Why is Bill doing so much damage control today? If we are crazy and no one else shares our opinion why has Bill done 3 nationally syndicated radio shows to defend his fairy tale comments?

2. Because his comment was taken out of context. He is setting record straight !
If people twist your words to gain a pokitical advantage you must set the record straight.

3. I don't know, but he surely didn't defend them very well. I've heard no positive
coverage in the two different broadcasts I've seen/heard about it.

Maybe Bill should just be seen and not heard :-) Although I did hear they were putting a Rapid Response Damage Control Team in his entourage.

8. And while many of you mock and ridicule Bill at least extends an olive branch. . .
. . .that is a lot more than the folks who are telling us we are crazy race baiters.

19. Indeed..plenty of "crazy race baiters." Jesse Jackson Jr being
at the top of the list doing Obama's bidding

I won't be sad if it backfires on the hypocritical Hope and Change crowd

5. gee, maybe because Clinton can't afford to lose supporters
but I'm not politically savvy so maybe it has nothing to do with voters and just has to do with the comments on DU

16. And cry RACE VICTIM will cause mass rallies to Obama?
There is no good outcome here.

After decades of hearty welcome in the national black community, suddenly the Clintons are racist bigots? Because what? Nobody noticed before?

Pull the other one.

We can only have one first: the first woman or the first black man. Two groups of Americans whose hearts will soar or be broken.

Anyone who thought the issue was war or health care is wrong.

21. You're right. There is no good outcome here. But nobody called
the Clintons bigots. They're just accused of using racist tactics for personal gain. Republicans do it all the time. Most of them are no more racist or homophobic than the average Dem.

6. This is embarrassing, shameful, humiliating
I don't know what to say to the reaction about these out and out racist statements. I really don't. I don't know how people defend "shuck and jive" and now the imaginary hip friend bullshit, the slam on MLK. I don't know what to say. It's just awful.

Kerry was swiftboated in 2004 and didn't want to respond to lies
so he waited and see what a mistake that was.

The supid charges of racially offensife tactics should not go unanswered. He should go defend his statement from the smear.

13. Because Drudge breathlessly reports anything anti Hillary and then it gets reposted here
and on other sites and people around the country read it.

I suppose he wants to combat the rightwing machine.

20. Well I for one hope that Hillary's team will be more considerate
concerning those who brought them to the dance. They have behaved like fair-weather friends. I hope they will reconsider their tactis before they destroy the party in their efforts to realize THEIR dream of getting Hillary elected. There are things that are more important than that.
