Bill Maher returned tonight.

Finally, someone who might actually give Edwards the time of day! Bill likes Edwards. He doesn't buy into the "bargain" with the bad guys bullshit going around these days.

He starts to bring up John Edwards. He's got Tony Snow on the show tonight. Bill asks a reporter why, considering the fact that John has been leading on the issues such as the economy, wasn't his message getting out there. The reporter starts to blame the media for not wanting the message to get out...

... Tony Snow JUMPS in to take over the conversation. He claims that the reason that people aren't getting John's message is that... and I quote...

AMERICANS KNOW THAT THE MESSAGE IS NOT TRUE, BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ECONOMY AND AMERICANS ARE HAPPY!!

He goes on and on about how swell everything is. More people with houses. More people saving. Less unemployment. Lies, lies and more lies.

But he says that unity and ending bi-partisanship will be wonderful. Since nothing is really wrong in the country anyway.

Partisan fighting is ruining this country?? BULLSHIT!! Leaches fighting over who has power and money are ruining our country. There is no such thing as partisan politics. There are the big left spenders and the big right spenders. And nobody to bitch slap them both out of fucking Washington.

I support John Edwards, because he smiles, but he carries a big fucking stick that he will shove up the asses of these money interests who are ruining our lives.

I am angry. I'm fucking pissed. People are losing their homes. Going hungry. Dieing. What the fuck else should I be feeling??? The desire to kiss the ass of the people fucking me over??? No thanks.

United we sit at the table and say "see 300 million of us", see one of you. Yeah. We win.

The economy is tanking. Having lived in Europe for a number of years, we watch the dollar. It is falling precipitously. That is scary considering how much debt we have as a nation. It is especially frightening when you consider that China is artificially maintaining the value of the dollar against the yen. And watch the value of gold rise -- parallel to oil. I expect Bush kneel and kiss somebody's ring and beg Saudi Arabia to lower the price of oil for a few months until after the election. If oil prices drop or even stay level, I will suspect political manipulation, and I will hope that Edwards calls the Saudis and Bush out for it and points out that we must become energy independent.

I love the "United we sit at a table to bargain," "United we sneak off to a backroom to bargain," and the United we reach our e00 million pound fist out and fucking end this tyranny and take our democracy back." a for sale sign and I thought, foreclosure. There is no excuse for foreclosures in L.A. what with the shortage of housing and the families crowded together into small dwellings. But there it was, an empty house with a big sign in front of it. And at the end of our street, there is another house that has been empty for years -- I suspect it was foreclosed long ago, but that the bank refuses to lower the price to an affordable level. What a greedy bunch we have in the positions of power in this country. My children, both professionals cannot afford to live in L.A. It's just too expensive here for any normal person.
