Is Obama going to condemn Lawrence O'Donnell for his Race-Baiting remarks?
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 11:32 AM by itsrobert
LAWRENCE O'DONNELL: "If John Edwards stays in the race, he might, in the end, become nothing other than the Southern white man who stood in the way of the black man. And for that, he would deserve a lifetime of liberal condemnation."

1. Depends on how fast they can get the Swiftboat to change course.
Right now it's aimed at Clinton.

3. From Jane Hamsher at firedoglake:
"Chris Hayes, writing about the Edwards campaign in The Nation: "Few remember that the signature economic policy of Bill Clinton's presidency, balancing the budget, originated as a plank in the platform of his primary rival Paul Tsongas. If the next Democratic President manages to pass universal healthcare or a carbon cap-and-trade, we'll owe the Edwards campaign a significant debt."

We'll be lucky to have Edwards, who OWNS the economic debate issue in this election, as President. Obama and HRC would cave to the corporate/globalizationist agenda. In fact, such caving is the hallmark of those two candidates. Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets, and the corporation globalizationists want either Obama or HRC to carry on that agenda.

4. What nonsense.
You offer no evidence whatsoever either that Edwards will actually do anything but talk- his record suggests that he's prone to dramatic changes on policy. His happy investment in Fortress suggests that he's more than willing to take advantage of tax shelters and invest in a fund that invests in all kinds of unsavory corporations.

Conversely, you offer nothing to demonstrate that Obama is a corporate "tool".

Typical.

5. Obama's visit on Nov 29th to Bloomberg
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 11:54 AM by EVDebs
And the billionaire got a free lunch (Obama paid the tab !).

Taxpayers will end up footing the bill under Obama and HRC if they get elected since there is no evidence to show they are against the corporatist/globalizationist agenda.

The evidence you demand is all in Edward's talk and actions. He's at least doing something about it by running, alone, as the anti-corporatist/globalizationist.

When the recession (if it isn't building into a depression by now) hits you'll wish you had Edwards in there. Obama would be too busy cutting deals with the corporations. I'm afraid Hillary already has cut those deals (think Enron and when the pipeline through Afganistan was being planned ... during Bill's term) already.

Edwards has cut no deals and can't even remotely be called a corporate tool. Not too sure about a 'bargainer' when you need a 'fighter' in the Oval Office.

Some more specifics are the origins of HRC's healthcare plan in '92, a Stanford free-marketeer, Alain Enthoven. What right-wing thinktank will Obama resort to ? Someone Bloomberg suggests to him, I suppose.

9. One question, why do you think Edwards message isn't getting accross?
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 11:59 AM by still_one
At least as far as the polls suggests, Edwards is trailing

Super Tuesday will be critical for all the candidates, but especially Edwards

If he does well, then he has proven his viability, but if he continues to place third, and still continues after Feburary 5, then either his message isn't getting out, or the voters don't care for his message.

10. I sure wish he would...I thought Lawrence O'Donnell's suggestion about Edwards stepping aside was
racist in itself....Imagine, a white waspy male of the establishment suggesting that the way for a Black Man to win is for another Southern White Man to step aside.

I also have this hope that Obama and Edwards will team up to be a ticket in the form of Edwards/Obama or Obama/Edwards and that he (Obama) doesn't slam Edwards but rather recognizes that Edwards is not the threat, but rather the ticket for Obama to the White House, even if its first as VP for Obama.... :eyes:

Lawrence O'Donnell's a piece of shit and a shill...I know his cousin Mimi well and I plan to talk to her about his "Edwards is a loser" article....it will be interesting because I know she likes both Obama and Edwards and can't stand Hillary...

15. A man bound...and why he can't win. Kinda says it all about Obama
He's a 'bargainer' but right now the economy, and the country, needs a 'fighter'--Edwards

11. Wow! That's a discusting statement ....

Not a very smart way to woo Edwards supporters. What makes him think that Edwards supporters are going to jump on the Obama bandwagon if Edwards drops out?

I think O'Donnell deserves a lifetime of liberal condemnation for making this pitiful statement!
