Rasmussen daily graph for 1/12/08 - Clinton up 4, Obama up 2, Edwards down 1
Depressing.

(These graphs are all contained on one Web page at http://www.dvorkin.com/rastrack.html)

(Pretend that the 10 and 20 lines are actually 0. Does anyone know how to make Excel label different parts of the axis differently?)

1. Obama has weathered the "bump" very well
This is the first tracking poll that is taken completely after NH. He has been able to keep pace with her, never letting her gain more then 2 points on him. I think that bodes well for him.

3. Fabulous
that means that she is getting more of the Richardson supporters as well as Biden and Dodd people. My guess is that she is also going to take Edwards supporters by about 2/3rds. I can't see the edwards people going for making nice with republicans and saying "why can't we all just get along". And despite the games Edward and Obama have been playing Edwards supporters know Clinton is more likely to support the needs of working people.

4. What it really means is that she got a bump from the NH caucus
Like she was expected to.

5. an Edwards voter
You really don't "get" the Edwards voter-we are intelligent and idealistic-neither Obama or Hillary is palatable to me-they don't represent change, despite their rhetoric, which is what they are, just rhetoric. Personally, if Edwards is coerced out, I will vote Republican. The economy is going to tank, and at least I'll have the satisfaction of seeing the Republicans have to clean up their own mess for once. Edwards is the only FDR we have running that will be able to cope with what's coming.

6. So, Obama and Hillary voters
are not smart? You mean only about 17% of all Dems are as smart as you? C'mon now. We all see things in our candidates that cause us to support them. I happen to not believe that Edwards will do what he says he will do. If it were simply based on the message, I would back JE, but there is more to it than just the message. That's great that you're pleased with your candidate, but don't assume you are more complex or intelligent than backers of other candidates, please.

9. I'm an Edwards supporter
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 12:51 PM by DavidD
And I can't imagine voting Republican if Edwards doesn't get the nomination. I'll certainly vote for Clinton or Obama.

I won't be enthusiastic, certainly not the way I will be if Edwards is the nominee, but Democratic control of both the presidency and Congress is our only hope to return America to democracy.

I suspect the vast majority of Edwards supporters feel the way I do. I certainly hope so.

13. You do realize that 2 points isn't much of a bump, don't you?
Oh, never mind. I forgot who I was addressing.
