Obama's IL Const Amend, Health Care A Right
This is Barack Obama's. Nobody else joined him, he didn't get a lot of support on it. Would people please stop saying he does not support Universal Health Care. It is a lie.

ILCON Art. I, Sec. 25 new
Proposes to amend the Bill of Rights Article of the
Illinois Constitution to provide that the State shall enact
on or before May 31, 2002 a plan for universal health care
coverage for all persons. Effective upon approval by the
electors.

2 CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
4 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
5 CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the
6 electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the
7 general election next occurring at least 6 months after the
8 adoption of this resolution a proposition to add Section 25
9 of Article I of the Illinois Constitution as follows:
10 ARTICLE I
11 BILL OF RIGHTS
12 (ILCON Art. I, Sec. 25 new)
13 SECTION 25. UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE COVERAGE
14 Health care is an essential safeguard of human life and
15 dignity, and there is an obligation for the State of
16 Illinois to ensure that every person is able to realize this
17 fundamental right. On or before May 31, 2002, the General
18 Assembly by law shall enact a plan for universal health care
19 coverage that permits everyone in Illinois to obtain decent
20 health care on a regular basis.
21 SCHEDULE
22 This Constitutional Amendment takes effect upon approval
23 by the electors of this State.

1. Thank you...I had previously asked which of the candidates supported healthcare as a right
Thank you for this info.

The only other candidate that I know of is Kucinich who has proclaimed healthcare as a right.
