Okay, I'm an obama supporter, but you have to give a nod to the RP followers, they are organized like nothing else. All over the suburbs there are signs in the oddest places for him, that do make you look twice. And today, on the main intersection/corner of downtown Geneva, IL - there had to be 30 of them out there with signs, all excited and cheering as the cars zipped by. 30 might not sound like alot, but where we are, people never get involved. I've never seen a gathering like that on such a prominent corner. This was Hastert country, afterall.

I would love to see an Obama gathering like that. I would certainly attend, kids in tow.

1. "kids in tow" is a great idea...
Took mine to Dean rallies and those were wonderful times ~ also planted seeds of political activism that have grown!

2. My oldest (4yo) has been with us for every vote we've cast since he came home from the hospital.
Our second (10.5mo) will see his first voting booth, when we vote in the primary next month :)

And is is odd that my oldest loves KO? He watches with us each night before bed, or the next day if we tivo it. His favorite part is the lead up to the funniest clips, and loves shouting out the "AH" part, LOL.

3. yeah
I agree... but god forbid you express praise for a candidate other than a democrat here, you will be massacred. Last time I mentioned a few qualities of Paul and his campaign people were threatening to ban me from the board.... all for free speech, i guess.

5. Oh yes. I remember my son being so proud of his sticker. He went to bed with it :)
I think if I can raise these boys to be politically aware/educated, if not outwardly active - then I think I've done a good job. Too many kids these days are too complacent with such things. They really don't understand the sacrifices made that gave us the right to vote to protest to speak out, any of that. It's a real shame.
