I have heard a lot of comment on American talk-back radio (admittedly a lot of right wing) that they don't respect her because she didn't leave her husband. I personally thought that she had shown a lot of dignity during that time.

2. lots of "Christian women" think she should have left him
which explains why Christians have higher divorce rates than catholics, jews, or atheists.
I guess they really, really, really didn't get the forgiveness part or the until death do us part of Christianity

3. No.
That's just the hate mongering righties. They will find any excuse to project their self-hatred onto another.

4. Hillary became a Senator because she was married to him. She's running for president because she's
married to him. So it makes sense that she would catch some flak for it too.

22. She is also ran for Senate and is now running for president because she shut up
Almost any wife faced with a lout of a husband such as this would not act like Hillary did. Almost every wife of a cheating husband will wonder what the fuck she was thinking of in sticking by such a bozo.
Good president. Bozo husband.

6. Yes.
There are people who do not think badly of her, but who do regard that whole thing as unpleasant baggage, a drag on her candidacy.

7. While I am not a Hillary fan......many people including me have dealt with...
spousal infidelity and stayed together. I make no judgement on anyone on how they deal with it.

Whether they stay together or split has no RIGHT decision or WRONG decision....just a decision.

24. Well, there's spousal infidelity and then there's dog behavior
Personally, I believe in forgiveness and second chances. I just wouldn't stay with a guy who couldn't keep his pants zipped - literally - over decades.

8. I would've dumped him. However, lots of famous women stay with their famous philandering hubbies
Right wing Christians should be admiring her, as they are supposed to believe in forgiveness, and she forgave her husband. But they don't because right wing Christians are such hypocritical @#$#@#$s.

16. Because their husbands hold the power, and they love that power, too.
It's a case of 'without him, I'd be nobody, therefore I stay with him'.

19. I guess, but you know, without him she would've been somebody anyway.....
... it's her problem either way and not mine, nor is it my role to be telling anyone they have to be like me. :-)

I don't put up with much. It's just the way I am. Low tolerance for bs.

17. Isn't 'dumping someone'
hypocritical, since you took a vow to be together for better or worse?

Seems the easy way out if you ask me....

18. I don't care what vows were taken. If a man cheats on me, he's not getting any more sex from me....
... and if he wants to live that way, and is giving me money, fine. Otherwise, he can get his @$$ out of my house.

9. She would have been nobody if she had left him
She certainly is not accomplished enough in her own right to not have to have him to give her validity.

Compare that to women like Barbara Boxer or Nancy Pelosi, who don't need a husband to lie about her opponents to gain political points for some.

10. Radio Talkers are known as Clinton haters. No one pays any
attention to them on this subject. Maybe it rallies the more
ignorant on the Right. Show me one ignoramus on the Right who
would ever vote for HRC. They are singing to the their choir.
I will bet the more thoughtful on the right are sick of hearing
it also.

14. She gets crap because it looks like she stayed ***for political reasons***
not out of love or support.

Her personal political goals required she stay with him.

It flies in the face of her 'go girl' b.s.

People are already predicting that if she doesn't win the presidency she's going to divorce Bill because she doesn't need him anymore; he 'failed' her.

Did you hear their conversation? I mean, you state that as if it's a fact. I think you're buying the right wing version of the story.

I have no idea, and I wouldn't make that accusation. It's really not a factor as to her ability to do a good job as POTUS either.

15. I don't know....
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 09:08 PM by 1corona4u
I think she honored her marriage vows;

.... to be my wedded wife/husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part.....

If you ask me, they're not any different than proably 70% of the marriages today. The men are just better at not getting caught maybe....

Of course, I think all men are pigs though...;-)

If people are going to hate her for that, then so be it.

23. Yes. "Welfare Reform", the Telecom Act, NAFTA, Taft-Hawley repeal in 99, ....
Those are a few good reasons why I do not support Hillary.

As far as that blowjob crap, who cares?
