The Teacher's Union that filed the lawsuit HAS NOT ENDORSED any candidate
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gyvInzNqbVlZRinR5LP_RYQ8CU1AD8U4LR400

No direct connections to the Clinton campaign were immediately clear. The teachers union has not endorsed a presidential candidate and there are no records suggesting any of the five individuals who brought the suit have contributed to presidential campaigns this election.

Asked about the lawsuit while campaigning in Reno, Clinton said she was aware of it and hopes it "can be resolved by the courts and the state party because obviously, we want as many people as possible to be able to participate ... In the meantime, I'm just going to campaign as hard as I can here in Nevada."

1. More bullshit from Herman. The directors of the union are Hillary supporters. This was proven in...
many of the other threads on this subject.

3. Here's the connection
But the lawsuit, filed by six Nevada Democrats and the Nevada State Education Association teachers' union -- whose deputy executive director, Debbie Cahill, is a member of Clinton’s Nevada Women’s Leadership Council -- seeks to prevent those At-Large Districts from meeting in next Saturday's caucuses.

5. The teachers union in NV is heavily leaning toward Hillary

And this is a long established fact. Not to mention that the law firm that filed suit on behalf of the teachers union is loaded with Hillary supporters.

If Hillary wanted this stopped and to allow culinary workers to poll at locations convenient to them, all she has to do is pick up the phone and call off the attack dogs.

After all, the polling plan was put in place months and months ago.

11. And four of the plaintiffs APPROVED the caucus plan
They were in on the planning the entire time with the State Party since last spring. They signed off on it. This is simply crooked, this whole thing. If the Culinary Workers had endorsed Clinton, this wouldn't be happening. I don't care what anybody says.

9. Didn't some of the people filing the complaint approve the plan originally?
This article is interesing - four of the plaintiffs filing the complaint actually approved the proposals at the time - why have they now changed their minds (the CWU endorsement of Obama?!). The whole thing stinks.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/01/tough-guy-pol-1.html

"The state party approved the at-large precincts at its Nevada State Democratic Party's State Central Committee meeting on March 31, 2007.

According to those minutes and attendance records of the obtained by ABC News (Click HERE), four plaintiffs now suing the state party to stop these "at-large" precincts from convening were in attendance: Clark Party Second Vice Chair Vicki Birkland and John Birkland, Party Third Vice Chair Dwayne Chesnut and Clark County Public Administrator John Cahill.

The "Delegation Selection Plan Review and Approval" including these "at-large" precincts was, according to minutes of the meeting reviewed by ABC News, "Passed unanimously." The plan was submitted to the Democratic National Committee for approval in August."

20. I think it's out and just smacked you in the face.

What more do you want?

The lawsuit is filed. The polling locations WERE approved previously. The people filing the lawsuit are connected with Hillary. If she didn't want this done (out of a sense of fair play and let everyone vote) all she has to do is make one phone call and the lawsuit is gone.

I'm not sure what you are expecting... a statement from her saying what, exactly... "Yes, I directed that this be done and I don't want to make it easier for the union that didn't endorse me to vote in this primary." or "I didn't ask for this lawsuit to be filed and I'm opposed to making it more difficult for Culinary workers to caste a ballot in this primary, but it's out of my hands and I can't do anything to stop it, it's a local Democratic matter."

And would you believe her if she made the second statement?

24. The lawsuit is filed... the plaintiffs are named.

It's not about what someone wrote in a blog or newspaper... it's a court case. Public record and all that. And the connections of the plaintiffs to Hillary are established. All matter of public record.

And Hillary could make it all go away with a phone call.

Again, it's not "did she order it" or "did a staffer order it"... it's that she hasn't STOPPED it. She doesn't even have to apologize or anything. Just a court document saying "the plaintiffs have dropped their lawsuit... blah, blah, blah) and it's OK with me.

Then, if she wins NV, great. If Edwards wins, great. If Obama wins, great.

And the more votes the better. Hell, every election should be a paid holiday and voting should be required... if you don't vote, no drivers license... as opposed to the other way around.

the one's actually responsible for the lawsuit are very connected and partisan to her.

22. True that
And if you look at the Teacher's Union "series of tubes" site you'll see that they give info on both the Dems and the Repukes.... so its members can decide who they may want to vote for.

Since I rarely believe anything I read on DU these days ... I spent a bit of time looking at this issue. There seems to be some 'hot and heavy' union action goin' on with all 3 campaigns. It's not pretty.

The suit does make some valid points (yea, I actually read it). The delegate percentage thing is a little troubling.

Nevada wanted to be in the spotlight.... they got their wish. Regardless of what happens and who "wins" I'm 100% confident of ONE THING.... I can look forward to a few hundred threads here blaming (insert dem name here) for doin' something "horrible" in Nevada.

Just my opinion and Zogby has done a poll... I'm wrong 91.4% of the time.

25. From ABC (nice try):
But the lawsuit, filed by six Nevada Democrats and the Nevada State Education Association teachers' union -- whose deputy executive director, Debbie Cahill, is a member of Clinton’s Nevada Women’s Leadership Council  -- seeks to prevent those At-Large Districts from meeting in next Saturday's caucuses.

"The Democratic Party of Nevada has violated the principle of 'one person, one vote' by creating at-large precincts for certain caucus participants, based solely on the employment of such participants," charges the lawsuit -- posted HERE by Vegas pundit and reporter Jon Ralston.

The lawsuit was filed by the firm Kummer, Kaempfer, Bonner, Renshaw, and Ferrario. Senior partners Michael Bonner and Christian Kaempfer have donated money to Clinton in the past, and Clinton ally and former Rep. James H. Bilbray, D-Nev., is an attorney at that firm.
