2. Ha
When you come here you have two options; fight or flight... You can bash the poster who bashed your candidate or ignore it...

5. Aint that the truth!
I don't bash candidates. I am comfortable with my candidate, so I can sit back and watch the fun. I'm too old to get rattled by the bashing posts, and I have confidence that my candidate will deliver. No matter who wins the nom, they will become my candidate if mine were to lose.

14. Democratsincebirth: I'm really glad that you posted this...
I have been thinking that it was time that someone did. We all understand that we have a close race between 3 qualified candidates, one of which may be our personal favorite. Bashing with facts is one thing...or at least pointing out some of the baggage any American over the age of 15 starts packing...is fair game provided it is true, is verifiable, and is productive. To misconstrue, to use disinformation(one of our major problems here), or to outright lie to knock one of the candidates is our current problem.

The Republican Hate Machine is, as I've said many times, operating in high gear. What it wishes to do to us is to divide us so that we spend every productive moment bashing Clinton, Edwards, or Obama. If it goes far enough, we end up fighting flame wars as we seek to defend our personal choice against against wrongful attack.

Are we all together so far?

All three of our 'favorite' candidates are fully qualified to be the president. All three have some faults and problems along with all the good qualities and opportunities that are part of their individual packages.

Did Hillary really vote for the IWR. Yes, of course she did. Did she vote for the war? No, she did not, and neither did the other 75 Senators who joined her in that vote.

Does Obama have a problem taking a stand or making decisions? Seems so, since he either does not show up or just votes present to avoid soiling his skirts for future reference. Does it make him a lesser candidate? Not really. He is still a brilliant individual who could probably do a fine job as president.

Edwards probably has more fuzzy baggage than the other two. The long pre-primary campaign has allowed him to talk about topics where he is not very experienced. Certainly not as experienced as Clinton and Obama. He also gets into trouble when he is against corporations but corporations is where he made his money and where he has considerable chunks of his money invested. Would Edwards make a good president? Yeah, he would.

When you compare our three candidates against BushCo...they are intellectual giants. Each has strong points and weak points. Each is vulnerable because of the baggage we all collect along the road of life. Compared further, to the mulitple clowns of the opposition, all three of our people are shining beacons of enlightenment.

So, why are we falling for the Repugnant attacks? Why are we falling into the trap of attempting to defend our own when they really need no defense, at least not by us. We do obviously have both Repugnant trolls on board here, we also have some rather unintelligent people, perhaps older kids, who delight in starting flamebait wars which no one ever wins and we all, in the end, lose.

Honest criticism is one thing. If we watch the way we phrase our titles just a bit, perhaps we can at least slow the animosity between us. The road ahead is long, tight in terms of this candidate or that, and needs intelligent input from all of us. We need to dump BushCo, we need to prevent the wacko Loons of the clown car(GOP)from completing the job of destroying our country, our Constitution, and our once enviable American way of life.

Clinton, Edwards, Obama. From this group will come our next president. At least it will if we are free to concentrate on the job we have to do.

It really is in our hands.

Anybody want to join together to make it happen?

28. You asked: "Anybody want to join together to make it happen?"
I'm with you. It's gotten to the point that I'm thinking of not opening *any* posts that have a candidates name in the title or the words *sexist* or *racist*.

I want to judge the candidates on the issues and their background.

If a controversy comes up from now on, I'm going to be googling and researching myself rather than listen to the "he said/she said/they said" tripe that is over flowing here.

I have until Feb. 5th to make a good decision and I am getting weary.

But whoever is the Democratic candidate, I'm voting Democratic.

17. I think you're dreaming if you think "shame"
is going to stop some of these posters.I have a particular dislike for posters who will repeat a lie no matter how many times it gets debunked or snide remarks about a candidates looks or personal life. Those posters have no shame and aren't interested in intelligent disagreements. We have a poster(can't remember who,I saw it last night) on here who's sig line is"I did not have sexual relations with that woman....Oh yes you did Bill!" What the hell form of Democrat is that???

13. We are
"eating our own," so to speak and it will not help us in the long run.

I think ANY AND ALL of the Democratic candidates will be a vast improvement over the situation we've got right now; I have my favorite Dem candidate - but I will vote for the eventual Dem nominee against any Republican and do so with confidence and enthusiasm.

I love DU for a diversified discussion of the issues.

15. What bothers me is that so few can differentiate from 'bash' and legit criticism.
Legitimate criticism can be used to help your candidate by exposing weaknesses and repairing them...before they become structural failures. The primaries are the qualifying heats for the main race, and too many supporters, particularly new ones, fail to understand that.

31. What Posters? What Candidates?
Any Subject Line bearing the name or the "Rove Jr." version of any Democratic candidate's name is left unaccessed and unread by these eyes.

And I'll tell you, it's been slim pickin's the past few weeks. I've been haunting the lobby trying various forums and avoiding landmine posts that have the potential to blossom into a poo-flinging festival.

Considering that most of the people here have had at least some college education, I'm surprized by the school yard and/or monkey-cage mentality.

However, I have been distantly amused by some of the opposite stance threads trying to outrace each other to the top of the Greatest Page. The only thing I can figure is some of the mods are taking bribes.

My opinion of the candidate bashers?: Childish, juevenile, lacking a basic understanding of human psychology. An undecided person is truly a rare thing in our world. Most people who say they are undecided, have an idea who they would vote for but merely lack a justification for doing so. Once a person had declared themselves it is even more rare to have them change their minds.

So all the posts are just poo-flinging, chest-beating, stick dragging and stomping through the creek (the most brazen and utterly machismo thing a chimpanzee can do) versions of monkey poseurs.

Ya'll have fun with that.
