Now that Roseanne Barr has come out and blasted Oprah for backing Obama and being a "closet Republican" it really brings up the issue as to why we even care? Do certain segments of our population really care what these people think? If so, are they the type of individuals who would actually vote?

Does the very fact that someone is recognizable earn them a platform from which to spew their ideology?

This whole celebrity/paparazzi/rehab centers/award shows/E! Channel industry is getting very tiresome.
