2. Hillary's explanation was completely absurd...
...and I think even her supporters will agree that suggesting that her war vote,
wasn't a vote for war---is very bizarre.

These same neocons asked her husband for war with Iraq in 1998. She's saying that
she thought that these war-shopping neocons wouldn't go to war, and would instead
work on diplomacy and let the inspectors do their jobs, is so implausible. I can't
believe she said those things with a straight face.

Here's a copy of the 1998 letter to then-President Clinton from Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz,
Bolton and other neocons, begging Bill for war against Iraq:

http://www.newamericancentury.org/iraqclintonletter.htm

She knew exactly what these players were doing. To suggest now that she
wasn't voting for war, is preposterous. Her speech on the Senate floor,
that accompanied this vote, made a case for war. Hillary linked Saddam to
Al Queda and suggested that Saddam was a nuclear threat.

Please keep in mind also, Hillary also spins her pro-war "yes" vote on Kyl/Lieberman,
as a vote for fostering diplomacy between the United States and Iran. Kyl/Lieberman
formally defines the military arm of the Iranian government as a "terrorist organization".
How does calling a government's military terrorists "foster diplomacy".

Hillary Clinton thinks were all stupid. Look at her votes, which are pro-war--don't listen
to her spin. The votes enabled war. It doesn't matter how she spins it. The results of
her votes are war with Iraq and an increased propaganda campaign as Bush attempts to widen the war into Iran.

3. Her explanation today on Meet the Press was that she believed
Bush when he said the purpose of the IWR was to be used to coerce Saddam into compliance.

I believe that anyone who says they trust Bush is either dumb or dishonest.

4. Not a vote for war....read what she said:
My vote is not, however, a vote for any new doctrine of pre-emption, or for uni-lateralism, or for the arrogance of American power or purpose -- all of which carry grave dangers for our nation, for the rule of international law and for the peace and security of people throughout the world.

*******

So it is with conviction that I support this resolution as being in the best interests of our nation. A vote for it is not a vote to rush to war; it is a vote that puts awesome responsibility in the hands of our President and we say to him - use these powers wisely and as a last resort. And it is a vote that says clearly to Saddam Hussein - this is your last chance - disarm or be disarmed.

6. Clinton got good advice from her constituents but ignored it
She was playing to the right wing or what is commonly called "the middle" while crafting a campaign for the white house.
