Lately, we have seen how Obama stands up to criticism
His campaign doesn't handle criticism very well. His supporters blow every criticism out of proportion by attacking it out of context or bringing up race.

This being the case, how would he stand up to the withering, 24/7 criticism that Hillary withstands? How would he stand up to the republican hate machine? Hillary has withstood it for the last 15 years and takes most of it with a grain of salt. Obama seems to fall apart with every slight, and his supporters fare even worse. Doesn't Obama realize that his supporters blowing everything out of proportion, inevitably, negatively reflects on him? I don't think thin skin sells well in the long haul.

3. He handles it extremely well.
Somehow, those attacking Obama always end up looking worse than he does. Maybe Clinton could learn a thing or two.

Turn on the news, listen to Obamas surrogates. Listen to what Al Sharpton is saying, listen to Russert.

Fallacy: Ad hominim

Person A makes claim X
Person B attacks person A
Therefore X is false

But, hey , you more than make up for it with the childish name calling.

7. They have handled it beautifully...
They've stayed mum on all of this race stuff, allowing those who are talking about it to be identified as those who are pushing it.

Instead, they've been highlighting all of the high-profile endorsements they're getting. A very strong strategy, IMO.

11. Hillary's supporters fear of the truth is frustrating
You say: " His supporters blow every criticism out of proportion by attacking it out of context or bringing up race"

What, pray tell, are you talking about? One surrogate, when faced with a clear pattern of racist speech by Clinton's camp, said something about it. He hasn't said anything since, nor has anyone else is Obama's camp. So what are you talking about?

Its easier to lie when you do have to back it up with facts.

12. that's the hallmark of idealistic campaigns and followers
Josh Marshall at talkingpoints memo said it best in 2004:

There is an awfully distressing tendency among a minority of Dean supporters to serve up no end of lacerating comments about other candidates and then to react with a sort of stunned and outraged shock when anyone criticizes their guy. It's the flip side of seeing the race in such heroic, if not messianic dimensions.

The primary is actually not concluded yet. And, pace John Calvin, I assume the outcome is not predetermined. So it is still permitted to criticize Mr. Dean and not be an enemy of democracy.

22. Glad to help you get in touch...
...with the language and sentiments that can be offensive to minorities. There is still a racial divide in this country and carefully selecting language that conveys respect and equality is extremely important.

Could you do your part to pass this message on to your campaign? It seems that they are a little behind in these matters.

Thanks!

19. That's a very good point
I've said it countless times leading up to this election - regardless of which Dem is elected, they're going to have to face a constant, brutal onslaught from the GOP, the news media and from the GOP factions that will still be entrenched in federal government and the military.
