"Nothing more completely baffles one who is full of tricks and duplicity than straightforward and simple integrity in another." Charles Caleb Colton (1780-1832) British clergyman, sportsman and author.
This says a lot, if you think about it. I wouldn't expect neocons and their followers to consider integrity, but I do expect it of us and our candidates.
When engaged in a contest, it's human nature to, at some point, want to win at all costs. We lose sight of our original intent and the ultimate goal.
Let's be careful not to want other Democrats and their followers to screw up just so our preferred candidate can win. I'd prefer a candidate maintain integrity - regardless of whether it's embodied in a pacifist or fighting approach - than eat off the corpse of others in order to achieve victory.
It's cliche, but I wholeheartedly believe it's how you play the game. You can fight and defend yourself and others and still maintain integrity.
IMHO, of course. ;-)
