I'm guessing lots of righteous indignation and dozens of threads full of invective.

But since Obama said it...

2. Post the quote where Obama "hailed Reagan as one of the greatest presidents."
I'll be waiting.

4. I wouldn't be surprised.
"Great" doesn't mean "in agreement with myself".

"Great" means, pretty fucking good at pushing his agenda. And yeah, I think that Reagan qualifies under that definition. He was effective, not in a way that I liked, but effective nonetheless.

13. Agreed
Reagan was great at what he did. Do I like what he did and what he stood for, no.

Hitler was a great orator too, but just because I recognize that he was doesn't mean in any way I agree with anything he said or did.

15. Well, Bush has been "great" at "pushing his agenda." We're fighting "Poppy's War" right now
So, sorry, that is NOT what "great" means. No one save a coked up drunk would call Monkeyboy "great." He's a "great fuckup" maybe.

When people talk about 'great' presidents, they're talking Washington, Lincoln, FDR...THAT kind of great. Not "great at pushing his agenda" great.

Oh wait, scratch that. You didn't have one.

People know you are a strict partisan with a mealy mouth.

8. Depends on what she actually said. If she admired Reagan's ability to
bring in those "Reagan Democrats," I'd agree with her.

9. Her husband and his DLC has moved our beloved party so far to the RIGHT, I don't hardly ...
recognize it. Therefore, I don't think this is an issue that HRC should broach.

HRC should admire the hell out of Saint Ronnie because his ideals and that of the Clintonian DLC are NOT philosophically divergent.

An Obama follower in another thread just called him an "iconic American president."

14. I'd think she flipped her lid n/t
She would never do that, except under threat of death.

BTW, Obama didn't say Reagan was one of the greatest presidents. He was pointing out the good things of the Reagan administration---how they met a need of the American people at that time, or so he thinks.

17. Clinton did more to advance Reagan's agenda than Reagan
That's the kind of success Obama was talking about. Reagan managed to get Democrats to create a whole wing of the party dedicated to him, the DLC.
