I guess he is too over-qualified.
I have had enough of the Obama/Hillary BS.

I wish Joe was still debating and giving nasty little digs to the republicans instead of other Democrats.

12. Exactly. Joe knows exactly how to campaign, and how to govern.
He would have been one of our great presidents.

I miss Joe Biden and wish he were still in the race. I honestly believe that if he had stayed in through January, his campaign would have caught fire.

He was without a doubt, the most qualified candidate on either side of the aisle. If he were to be our nominee, the Republicans couldn't have laid a hand on him. His knowledge and experience is far superior than anyone he might have faced.

I knew that before this was over, the Republicans would start thinking about experience and land on McCain. It appears that this is happening. IMHO, only McCain could make this race close. He is the most electable of the Republican candidates and we needed to counter that with someone like Joe Biden. Now we are all "star-struck" and the media is pushing the latest celebrity candidate because it means more money in their coffers. It is far more "newsworthy" to cover the first woman or first African-American presidential run than it is to cover experience and qualifications. They are more interested in covering presidential history being made. The more money raised by these candidates means more money for the media. The more money for the media means more coverage of these candidates. It's a scam and in the end, the American people suffer.

Can you just imagine what the Republican machine will do to either of the Democratic front-runners? If you think it was vicious here at DU with all the childish bickering and name calling, you haven't seen anything yet. There is nearly a year left before the general election. There is plenty of time to resurrect anyone that the Republican Party puts forward. As usual, the Democrats will run scared. Afraid to look anti-military or soft on terrorism. Remember, it isn't the Republican nominee that we have to be afraid of. It is the people that will believe anything that comes from the Right side of the aisle. They will be the ones to make this a close race.

Biden would have NEVER entered this race with caution. He always spoke his mind and suffered whatever consequences that might arise...He was (is) a man of principle that does not let his convictions be compromised under the weight of slander and swiftboating.

The political pendulum does not automatically appear to the left just because a Democrat takes the Oval Office. If it did, we would all be voting for Kucinich. Like it or not, this country is far more to the right than many of us would like to admit. This was not the time to experiment with presidential politics. It was a time to start the pendulum swinging in the other direction.

I honestly believe that America missed its opportunity to put forward a candidate that would have gone down as one of our great leaders. You can blame the media, money and the caucus system. The fix was in. And we will slowly watch as the pattern is repeated as it has in the past. In the past, it was God, guns and gays that drove middle America to the polls. What will the Republicans come up with this time to scare the electorate? Between the remaining candidates on the Democratic side, it will not take much.

All you had to do America was to be objective, to think with your brain and not your heart. Emotions are fleeting...objectivity has greater staying power and is dependent on reason. Thank you America for fucking this up yet AGAIN.

18. I could not agree with your post more.
I was stunned that he was out so early. The Iowa loss was devastating... and I agree if he had stayed in he may have become a contender.
All of the infighting is turning alot of people off....and I think he would be smart enough to stay above the fray.
He is exactly who we need right now - and you are right, he would have been one of our great presidents.
Damn. We really missed an opportunity on this one...

16. I think Biden would have helped keep the infighting down.
The candidates would probably be spending more time attacking the repubs instead of tearing each other apart.
....plus I miss his wit.... and the mere possibility that such a great man could be president.

9. didn't fit the msm narrative
And so out he went. If he were still in, I doubt we'd be seeing the Dem infighting we're getting now.

10. I Completely Agree...
Note that Biden refrained from trashing his fellow Dems. It just isn't his style.

13. You are right.... so sad that we have to make a choice
from the McDonald's value menu rather than enjoy the 5 star meal that Joe offered.

20. Right on--I feel like I'm choosing from the McDonald's value menu
but it's better than E. coli burgers that the repubs offer.

11. I'd rather he, Richardson, and/or Dodd still be in the race
than Kucinich at this point.
