1. Those freaking out about Reagan...
Need to realize that what Obama is saying doesn't mean everything he did was awesome. You won't find this poll indicating many who believe that... or that Bill Clinton wasn't good for america.

That's not the point.

What i think is THREATENING about Obama's comment is that it's a back-handed attack on Clinton's legacy, and let's be honest. Bill Clinton's personal attacks on Obama are insane and reflect his unfortunate narcissism. Putting his legacy on the line is what he deserves after the last few weeks.

He oughta bow down and get out of the way, because all he's doing it putting his own legacy on the line.

Then again... for Bill... his legacy is on the line via Hillary and that's the problem.

3. I Don't Think Senator Obama Wants To Make This Primary Season A Referendum On Clintonism V Reaganism
I assure you most Democrats , while they won't speak ill of the dead, hold Ronald Reagan in very low regard...

17. Did you think the same thing about the Reinventing Government group Gore chaired in 1993?
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 07:57 AM by jefferson_dem
It's mission: to create a federal government that "works better, costs less, and gets results Americans care about" and it's list of accomplishments include trimming away what some may call "excess."

Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 08:26 AM by ixion
certaily not good. I'm sorry, but I really can't forgive Clinton for continuing -- and expanding -- the bogus 'war on drugs'. Because it's that 'war' that paved the way for it's ugly younger brother, the so-called 'war on terror' and a continued eroding of our civil liberties.

I'm an independent, not a party loyalist. I want change, and I care about the Truth above ANY party.

29. Certainly he did things that I despise. But never to the level of Reagan. Clinton's can be undone.
Reagan was my first glimpse into our true foreign policy. My opinion is he brought about the whole mess we are in the Middle East now. All administrations have done it. Reagan brought it to a new level and in more areas I think.

24. Yes,Because Reagan "Brainwashed" The Populus
Perhaps that's why some Democrats are praising him now because we still operate under the framework he created and change can only be made at the margins...

26. and here's the thing: Clinton continued that policy. If he had stepped in and restored sanity
as I thought he was going to do, I would be all full of praise for the guy. But instead, he continued -- and in fact increased -- the privatization of prisons and the jailing of non-violent offenders. He continued the push to the right, so I can't forgive him for that.
