Judge dismisses Nevada Lawsuit!
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 03:40 PM by elizm
Hillary unable to disenfranchise voters of her own party.

By KEN RITTER, Associated Press Writer

LAS VEGAS - Democrats with ties to Hillary Rodham Clinton failed in court Thursday to prevent casino workers from caucusing at special precincts in Nevada.

The ruling by U.S. District Court Judge James Mahan was presumed to be a boost for Clinton rival Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential caucuses Saturday because he has been endorsed by the union representing many of the shift workers who will be able to use the precincts on the Las Vegas strip.

"State Democrats have a First Amendment right to association, to assemble and to set their own rules," Mahan said.

5. He has traded his presidential Legacy for the title "Bill Clinton, Vote Suppressor"
Enjoy it, Billy!

He went from "the Man from Hope" to "that Man can't Vote".

It's a crying shame.

14. Just heard Bill Clinton....
...Saying very angrily, "We had NOTHING to do with that lawsuit". It sounded eerily similar to another 'denial' he made a number of years ago.

2. YAY!!!
How can anyone talk about disenfranchising voters in one breath, and then file a lawsuit like that?

Everyone deserves a voice; not just those who are more likely to agree with you.

8. I never doubted that this would be the outcome.
The lawsuit was a joke. Now it has been ruled a joke.

13. Oh, but Bill says adamantly that they had nothing to do with it, right??
I wonder if the Culinary Union workers are buying that??

16. Apparently not enough, considering that bullshit story today...
About Clinton-supporters going nuts over that woman who was, according to them, disenfranchised by the Union for not pledging to support Obama. Who cares that the woman in question characterized it as a "misunderstanding" and points out that she was registered, after all.

11. If the state party wants to give these people's vote five times more weight, they can apparently.
It seems that the state party has complete control over delegate selection, and if they want some people's choice to be more equal than others, they are entitled.

12. I hope observers will be present at these caucuses to ensure .....

no voter intimidation occurs. It would seem only fair.
