And Larry O'Donnell loves him some Reagan. And Larry O just put down our wing of the party in a devastating way.

Life is too short. I won't watch when they glorify that man.

11. Larry.
He said all anybody remembers about Reagan now was his funeral, at which everybody pretty much universally praised him, and so they wouldn't understand why Edwards would be so offended by Obama's positive references to Ronnie. He said Edwards is washed up anyway.

of him! He's just that little gnat flying around making noise I guess! I partially agree that KO was just giving a voice, but I would have CHALLENGED HIM! KO seemed to support Clinton early on, now I just don't know what to think!!

KO letting them say Reagan began an era of optimism? Over the top and OUTRAGEOUS! People, turn this S--t off! Even Bill Clinton is losing it, and that SAY volumes! Sure he's touting Hillary... but we crossed the line somewhere... Obama can't be the ONLY answer! And so many in Congress are acting like it's the second coming of Jesus Christ! Sorry, I'm really not trying to make Obama the bad guy, but he's playing it for all it's worth! Liberals who fought Reagan and disagreed overwhelmingly are not just "walking with Obama" their RUNNING to get on board!

Who can blame Obama for not taking advantage of it? But this "adoration" isn't what electing a POTUS is about! America, where Art Thou???

17. They Would Do ANYTHING!!
Reagan was EVIL!

Read this:

Well, Sen. Obama, there was the public persona versus his private agenda: Ronald Reagan “borrowed Teddy Kennedy’s nationalist rhetoric … echoed Carter’s incessant talk against Washington, and festooned his speeches with quotations from FDR,” writes Sidney Blumenthal in his 2003 memoir. But, Reagan — just like George W. Bush — “was astonishingly successful in his plan to paralyze the federal government.”

After a rush in his first year to pass an enormous regressive tax cut, accompanied by a large increase in the military budget … Reagan was a president at leisure. He delegated his authority and paid little attention to detail. … His achievement of presiding over a government that permitted the federal deficit to grow to astronomical proportions made a federal social policy virtually impossible to realize. Once he learned that the supply-side economic theory his advisers had advocated was backfiring, producing deficits instead of the promised Niagara of revenues, he was pleased with the deadening effect. He revived the grandeur of the presidency for his stage set but put the executive branch to sleep.

I can't believe Keith is SUCH A WUSS!!!

59. Do you know what "Vetting" means?
It means digging into the very psyche of a candidate and getting it all aired out.

That is what is happening right now.

The downside is that things come out that people don't like.

The upside is that things come out that reinforce current supporters and win over undecideds.

Learn to live with it -- it is a NECESSARY part of the process.

Why do you think they switched to saying "progressives?" And what about him, talking about "welfare queens" and cutting programs to help his agenda. STAR WARS, TRICKLE DOWN, oh it's just too much!

Yes, us BOOMERS ARE such WHACK jobs! Well, at least we TRIED to "buck" the system to have our voices heard! We can't go back and expect things to be the same, but at the same time... we can't "roll over" and play DEAD! Give me a break!

OK... I pass the torch of our activism in what we believed for our country, what we marched for, what we worked for, what we wanted for those whose voices weren't being heard! Liberals are nothing more than "shit cans" you can kick down the road and out of the way!

Hope it works for you, because you had better get ready to make some real sacrifices, but unfortunately, we ALL have to pay! Georgie is STILL getting "his way!"

And yes, I'm PISSED beyond comprehension!

21. Know someone who can't get mental health they need. Thanks Ronnie Reagan.
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 08:32 PM by madfloridian
"The Ugly: the closing of mental health hospitals in California and across the United States. Is it any wonder that California seems to have all of the crazy homeless people? State mental hospitals were taken away by Governor Reagan in the seventies, and federal mental health programs were later taken away by President Reagan in the eighties.

When Ronald Reagan was governor of California he systematically began closing down mental hospitals, later as president he would cut aid for federally-funded community mental health programs. It is not a coincidence that the homeless populations in the state of California grew in the seventies and eighties. The people were put out on the street when mental hospitals started to close all over the state.

Seeing an increase in crime, and brutal murders by Herb Mullin, a mental hospital patient, the state legislature passed a law that would stop Reagan from closing even more state-funded mental health hospitals. But Reagan would not be outdone. In 1980, congress proposed new legislation (PL 96-398) called the community mental health systems act (crafted by Ted Kennedy), but the program was killed by newly-elected President Ronald Reagan. This action ended the federal community mental health centers (see timeline on this link) program and its funding.

In closing, the next time you pass by a homeless person in downtown San Francisco screaming to themselves at the top of their lungs, remember Reagan. And if your kids need to go out and get jobs at age 9 to pay down the national debt, be sure to tell them that they can thank Ronald Reagan, and now President Bush, for their misfortune."

I was horrified by his race-baiting anti-Edwards screed on the Huffington Post, which has become in effect, the OBAMA post.

Seeing him defend Obama's ridiculous and (hopefully) candidacy-destroying remarks by calling union-members stupid made me sick.

Also I thought he did not look well.

But my main question is, wasn't he saying all this in some twisted attempt to defend Obama?

thus he is paid (or rewarded) to shill for Obama.

I was wondering if David was having buyer's remorse in his support of Obama after the McClurkin thingie - guess not. His hatred of Hillary, which seems very personal, appears to out weigh his gay pride (or lack thereof).

but he does have a tendency to let his guests talk without shouting over them or cutting them off...no matter what they say. Sometimes even stupid stuff.

On the rest of his show, he pointed out that Canada now considers us a country that tortures, slammed all kinds of wingnuts who deserved it, etc., etc., as he usually does.

So once again I become amazed that just because someone expresses tooly opinions on his show and he doesn't call them on it, some are about to toss him out the window or say he has been replaced as "the voice of truth."

Citizens of America... We Are Being Played Like A Fine Fiddle! I'm no Clinton supporter, but there is something very weird and very WRONG going on with MSM!! And KO has astounded me for letting this stuff play out. Maybe he's trying to give "voice" to journalists, but I would say I'm FLABBERGASTED by what I saw, but even THAT word isn't STRONG enough!

Do "we the people" count anymore??? I HAVE known and lived through the Edwards "smack down" beyond any comprehension, but now it seems we have a NEW KING!! I'm trying to think of what to say and words escape me!! What the F--K is going on??

Morning in America, or The Dawn of something?? Too bizarre, and waaaay over the line! Has MSM LOST all perspective and fairness?? And KO who we've all looked to as "our champion" let's these people say these things! I will admit, I didn't watch the whole show because as soon as O'Donnell started his commentary I switched channels! I NEVER thought I would do THAT, but I just couldn't take it!

When we kept hearing about the War, Bush & the Neocons I said we needed to take to the streets and start a REVOLUTION to take our country back... but NOW more than ever if we don't DO SOMETHING and SOON, I am actually becoming VERY AFRAID! THEY are buying the Reagan stuff ALL OVER AGAIN! Alterman said it was too long ago to be a factor! WHAT?? Does he take us for FOOLS?? You know, SOME of us remember VERY well those years!! Ollie North and mounds and mounds of too many other things!

Reagan is how Newt Gingrich got STARTED! Somebody... I need shock treatment I think!!

Now, more than ever I KNOW I'm sticking with Edwards, but after this and what they are doing I just can't be a part of such, such, such... I don't know WHAT!!

56. Tomorrow Will Be My Third Donation In Less than A Week! I Wish I
could do $250.00, but with KO's program tonight... those Powers have hold of the "balls" AND "vagina's" and the squeeze is on!

I'm stopping now... I have to leave now... my nerves are tingling and my hands can't type fast enough to continue on!
