The interesting thing about DU is
it that it hardly reflects how Americans think and perceive things. Over here, until recently Dennis Kucinich was a hero, Joe Biden had more support than Hillary and Obama together and right now John Edwards is the frontrunner around here. Also, the McClurkin incident was big news over here and some even predicted that was the end of Barack Obama (not that I'm particularly happy with what happened). Now, the Reagan comments are the latest big news around, and based on the outrage around here, one could think Barack Obama is a closet Republican or that his chances to get the nomination are over (again).

However, the outside world, for better or worse, hardly pays attention to any of these "issues", and if they do, they look at them very differently. The Obama-Reagan thing will only give Obama a reputation among conservative leaning-independents, middle of the road independents and Republicans who will vote Democrat in November as a tolerant, thinking guy who is really embracing post-partisan politics.

So, I hope those who are really having fun pushing the Obama=Reagan meme are enjoying themselves right now... because in the end it won't make a difference in terms of who's going to win the nomination.

I will applaud when someone rips the mask off the poseur. I don't know if Clinton will do it, I don't know if the republicans will do it...but make no mistake while you are serving up such a self-gratifying post...SOMEONE will.

Edited to fix typo.

7. We are Americans, but we are political junkies.
Most of the people here are to the left of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, candidates that if anything are left-center. I believe most Americans are in the center when it comes to politics. So true conservatives or true liberals are in the minority.

5. There is no such thing as "post-partisan" politics
The parties aren't going anywhere.

And we wouldn't want them to.

Well, maybe the Republicans. ;)

Probably not, but what some of you who post with such arrogant assumptions keep forgetting is that many of us are not Obama Haters (although, honest to god, I'm hoping some of the Obama posters are trolls), but this type of thing determines who we choose to VOTE for. It's called vetting a candidate and it's obnoxious how anyone here should assume anyone is going to win at this point.

Obviously a lot of shit can still hit the fan all over the place, all over any or all of the candidates.

I'm gonna have to walk away soon...this day has done me in and made me feel I'm in some sort of alternate freeper universe rather than a democratic site.
