9. If they abdicate their legislative responsibilities when they could have enormous
influence, it will be a profound disappointment.

If, on the other hand, they use the floor of the Senate to promote the Democratic platform of worker's rights, an end to war, civil rights, rights to privacy and so forth, how exciting that would be.
