For 43 seconds today, the world experienced a complete moment of peace. For those 43 seconds not one person died unjustly (though several did peacefully give up the ghost), for those 43 seconds, not one screamed in agony, not one in terror, not one in anger, not one in rage, not one in despair... though the world continued, not one quivering voice broke the peace.

For 43 seconds... not one bullet whizzed, not one bomb whistled, not one explosion blasted... not one, anywhere on the planet. For 43 seconds, not one person raised his hand against his neighbor for any reason... for 43 seconds, not one new drop of human blood stained the earth....

For 43 seconds, no one hated, no one lied, no one cheated... not one was spiteful, nor bitter, nor vile, nor rancorous... for those 43 magical seconds, not one person on earth held any other person in contempt...
