And what's with the Dr. Who flying saucer sound effect that comes in twice?

1. Please tell me why this man has any more credibility as a candidate than Alan Keyes?
As Willie Geist says, he's nothing but a charming crackpot. And I'm not seeing the charm.

3. It's because he's the Dominionist Real Deal.
For decades, while you guys have been surfing the Internet and posting blogs, the Baptists and other, weirder right-wing churches have been preaching that we should have a "Godly nation." Namely, of course, their god and no other. They now have an army of clean, well-scrubbed little Nazis for God that believe that to the bottom of their cold-hearted souls.

They had to put up with hypocrites that talked the same line, but ignored them once the votes were in and the gays were bashed. But now, they have Huckabee, the Real Deal, the guy who will burn that Constitution that troubled them so much and substitute Dominionist rules. And they'll get rid of all those pesky Jews, too.

This is why he is winning; because while you guys were twiddling your thumbs, your friendly neighborhood pastor was converting God into Gotterdammerung.

(Oh, I didn't mention that the Catholic Church has been going along with a lot of it, because of the anti-abortion thing. They don't realize that the local Catholic priest will be in line for the firing squad, right behind Democrats, gays and feminists.)

4. It's a strange thing. I believe in God, but also the Constitution and freedom of religious practice.
I'm emphatically for freedom of choice. They appear to be emphatically against it. And yes, they're well-mobilized and becoming highly visible.

This gives us an opportunity to view and address their latent domination and selfishness. It has to happen at some point. Like lancing a boil, I see this as a healthy thing.

7. Don't Dominionists have a LACK of faith?
If they really believed in the power of their faith, they wouldn't need to make it the law of the land. Backing up their philosophy with guns shows they don't really believe.

8. Yes, they are powerful because of their disbelief in the religion they are selling.
Huckabee might actually believe. I'm not sure. I know that these types are the same kind of fanatic, and are merely at opposite ends of the spectrum. True believers and true disbelievers.

One manipulates the other into serving them.
