Obama Rally Point. against weasel words. Please kick and recommend)
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 12:15 PM by Perky
We believe that the Obama's comments about Reagan were not an endorsement of Reagan or his policies....but rather a statement about how effective Reagan was at building coalitions and admiration about that. Nothing more nothing less.

Something that Hillary Clinton and her supporters care nothing about. Stop using weasel words. They lack substance just like your candidate.

1. I say quit feeding the trolls.
If they cant find a legitimate reason to criticize Obama, let them sit and spin.

5. William: guess what.
I am not a racist, nor a homophobe, I am a straight white woman who supports Obama. Now you can continue to call people in my situation names, or you can deal with it. Your brush is way too broad.

10. Your loss then; there's that all inclusiveness that you insist on
from others but don't practice yourself. Yes, I find that hard to understand.

3. Yeah, on 24 hours of rumination
thats the ticket.

Spin, rinse, repeat.

In the end, the quote is still what it is.....throwing liberals under the bus, in a calculated, cynical campaign attempt to acquire votes at ANY cost, even the core Principles of the Democratic Party.

11. Sadly, that's what it looks like...
Otherwise Obama would've pointed out that Reagan's "change" was NOT for the better ~ and he wouldn't have mentioned optimism and clarity, both very positive terms.

Yet another "Democratic" politician throwing liberals under the bus ~ I'll take an indie over a faux Dem.

20. I watched the vid...
And was also disgusted with his comments about the era preceeding Reagan (as I was with him trashing the boomers, whose activism made it possible for him to be where he is). He doesn't seem to get it.

And you know what, they aren't in any of the remaining threads of substance about the issues. I think that's very interesting.

13. It is easier to stop the voices in your head
if you just label people. That diminshes them, thus, their opinions have no weight. It is a very well known psychiatric defense mechanism.

Sorry, but in real life, such facile attempts are evidence of Cognitive Dissonance.

I am not a hate merchant. I don't respect cynical campaigns with a win at all costs mentality, if what is sacrificed, is your soul.

NOT!

Emulate the post which smacks down labeling. Then again, Bornagainhooligan, have you ever typed more than a sentence with any coherent thought attached?

Thought not......

and certainly not ready to abandon those issues we have fought for since the 60's.

We do not trust his stewardship of these precious, hard-earned gains.

This will not go away, it is not just about Reagan comments in the video.

And were are not happy about where this leaves the Democratic Party or those of us who had Obama as a first or second choice.

Some of them are good people who have just misplaced their minds. But a lot of them only show up when there's some pot to stir and that's been true for years.

I couldn't believe even Dan Abrams, who has been sticking up for Hillary every night, said Obama was absolutely right in what he said, and that it was NOT meant that Obama AGREES with Reagan-he was just pointing out a fact. :hi:

27. Kicking and Recommending
I watched the entire interview last night and I could not believe that it was SO taken out of context - but then again, Hillary supporters are quite good at that. I'm going to try not to feed them anymore.

It was about people having a feeling of optimism, as well. The reference to Reagan was so brief, he also mentioned President Kennedy, he also explained his differences with republicans, but after all the posts I read, I thought it was going to be...well at least SOMETHING, and it wasn't. It was a couple of true lines in what I thought was an excellent interview.

28. Obama is a weasel
Sorry, but that's how I feel about it. Republicans are gloating over his remarks. It's embarrassing. He can kiss up to them all he wants, but the Reagan lovers aren't going to vote for him anyway. I'm not sure if he did it to pander for their votes, like he did with Donnie McClurkin or to take a hit at Hillary, or if he truly believes Reagan was someone to be admired. But one thing I know for sure, I am very angry & I am very disappointed and I will not vote for him. He's starting to remind me of Joe Lieberman.
