I really don't know, so I ask.
This board today is filled with one post after the other presenting the Nevada caucus system as being suspect. It is not. It was thoroughly vetted by the party and approved months before by the DNC. The DNC even entered the lawsuit on the side of the Culinary Union as a defendant. The teachers union locally even distanced themselves from the suit, saying they understood it all along.
A lot of sound and fury signifying nothing....except it all happened the day after the union endorsed Obama. The union bringing the lawsuit was supporting Clinton. Bill Clinton spoke against the caucuses several times after the CWU endorsed Obama.
A whole lot of obvious.
Florida and Michigan. Screwed up votes. The people don't get a say in who the nominee is. If Florida had set their primary back one week to February 5, we could have had our votes counted toward delegates. But they could not do that.
It was done by the whole group of Florida leaders who worked with the GOP since early 2006 to change the date of the primary. It was pushed hard by
Bill Nelson, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Alcee Hastings, Hillary's campaign managers in the state. Hastings helped Nelson sue Howard Dean. The lawsuit was thrown out, but they still attack him every time they speak.
My vote in the primary will not count toward delegates. The one who benefits is the biggest name...Hillary.
I feel for the people of Michigan. They don't have their votes counting toward delegates either. Again, it was the chairperson or chairpersons of the same campaign who pushed the effort to move it forward. The day after the Democratic governor in Michigan, Jennifer Granholm, signed the primary bill into law NOT at the point of a gun but most willingly....she endorsed Hillary.
I watched her on CNN the other day. I saw she could not even
make a real case for what Michigan's leaders had done to the people. The worst part was a press conference she had a few days before.
Gov. Jennifer Granholm, U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow and former Gov. James Blanchard will meet with reporters, to publicize their support for Clinton's presidential bid and to discourage Democrats from voting "uncommitted" -- one of the choices on the Democratic ballot, along with Clinton, Chris Dodd, Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich. Blanchard said he is concerned voters may take out their frustration over the marginalized Democratic race here on Clinton, the only serious Democratic contender on the ballot in Michigan, by casting uncommitted votes.
Well, they did take her advice, and Hillary "won" Michigan.
I put "won" in parentheses because there are no winners right now.
So what do you think? Nevada's votes will count apparently because of a judge's ruling. Our votes won't count, so it is different. I guess. But is it all part of controlling the vote and controlling the message in the media (hey, ask me about how Florida media has destroyed Howard Dean)... is there a connection?
