"..it's a lot easier to change the Constitution..than to change the word of the living God"
Says Huckabee.

"..Huckabee campaigned in Greenville this week, supporting constitutional amendments on abortion and marriage.

'I believe that it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God' he said. His audiences often yelled 'yes' and 'amen'."

LA Times, January 18, 2008, A14. The quote is found on page 2 of the article:

5. Listen, this is scarier than you think. And here's why: Joe Scarbrough is evidently a fan of this
loon. So, this morning, MSNBC is basically a 4-hour shill for Huckabee. Morning Ho even said: "This is the kind of honesty we NEED in a President." Morning Ho also slammed McCain several times, incurring the ire of David Shuster. We all know, those of us who pay attention, that MSM coverage can make or break these candidates. We saw what they did to Al Gore and John Kerry. We see that they've framed Edwards out of the running.

So let's say we end up with Huck as the Republican nominee. And he's running against ANY of our 3 remainings. He has the horde of rightwing evangelicals and fundies as his base and the MSM to shill for him. For the first time today, I got scared that this could actually come to pass. Make it a tight race.. with only a few % pts in one or two states that can easily be manipulated, and Viola ! ::shudder:::

7. Exactly. Please bookmark and/or download the story for future reference.
And may the interviewers always ask Huckabee "Who would Jesus exclude?"

14. I hear ya. I think he's scary as hell, and I don't want him anywhere near
getting the Repub nomination! They're saying he's "likable," and has "charisma." He's "funny." Who else did we hear this same crap about?

To think he's easily beatable is foolhardy, IMO. All he needs is for the MSM to heavily promote him, and like you said, create the atmosphere of a "close race," and we could be looking at a theocracy.

6. I think he's trying to trick us into accusing God of being a flip-flopper.
There are dozens of "amendments" to the word of God. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, the Epistles, the Apocrypha...

Not to mention the Book of Mormon. :)

9. How difficult would it be to publish a revised Bible and offer
to trade one copy of the revised Bible for each copy of the standard Bible?
