Help me out here...Please....Where is the outrage?

Clinton Genuinely Praises Reagan for his approach to social security during the November debate:

here:

Democratic Debate in Las Vegas

Aired November 15, 2007 - 20:15 ET

snip

Clinton: Now, when people say, "Be specific," I listened very carefully to what Senator Obama said when he appeared on one of the Sunday morning shows, and he basically said that he was for looking at a lot of different things and using a bipartisan commission to do it. I think that's the right answer. That is where I have been from the very beginning.

That's what worked back in 1983 when we had a real crisis in Social Security. The government got together. President Reagan and Speaker Tip O'Neill put together a bipartisan commission.

Then everybody looked at everything at once. It wasn't one person's idea or somebody else's idea. Everybody had to get into a room and say, here's what we're going to do to fix the problem. That's what I want to do, because I think that's what will work for America.

snip

I just can't see how either Clinton or Obama are making outrageous statements.

Here is my view of Obama's comments:

Obama is saying the context of contemporary politics is similar to Kennedy's and Reagan's who fundamentally changed the country, and juxtaposing it against the era of Nixon and Clinton when the country had a viewpoint that was based on the change of their applicable predecessor.

He's saying the country is ready for a fundamental change in viewpoint that will change the trajectory of the country.

He's not promoting Reagan anymore than he is promoting Kennedy.

2. Obviously electing a DLC centrist
to continue on the trajectory we're on is so much more important than truth.

And the Edwards people helping this along will owe the rest of us a huge apology if Hillary wins.

3. Help me out here...where's the praise for Reagan?

She said Reagan and O'Neill put together the commission. It seems that she's giving credit to the commission for "working together", not Reagan and O'Neill.

4. It's gone from defensiveness to just outright lunacy at this point. (nt)

6. I think it's worth taking an objective view and contrasting the statements...

5. She is praising Reagan's approach to the social security crisis.
Quite clearly actually.

7. Where did you read that?
Because it's certainly not in what you posted. What is very clear is that she's talking about the bilateral commission. All Reagan and O'Neill had to do was throw a few names in a hat. The commission would have done anything resembling work.

Sorry, but you're trying a little too hard with this one.

For the record my own mock outrage makes as much sense as the mock ourage directed at Obama. There is no There, There, Anywhere. Lol

11. I don't really think they're comparable.
One is talking about a bipartisan committee created by leaders of both parties.

The other is referencing Reagan only.

I'm not debating the veracity of either argument; I just don't see how they're comparable.

12. One is adressing context. The other is adressing policy and approach.

8. While .......
Obama crushes the Democratic Party under the bus, by complaining of the efforts of an entire generation, with his "EXCESSES OF THE '60S AND '70'S" glib remark, while simultaneously lauding the ENTIRETY of Reagan's career, without distinction.

and these are the same....how?

AS REDQUEEN said, you Obamites cannot even read English anymore, as you've crossed over into pure LUNACY!

Contort and spin, contort and spin......

13. Good grief,
cultists are a waste of time and breath.

You are the "new" Fundies. A victory is your "rapture".

Sometimes the cost doesn't justify the means!
