1. Are you saying that being Tony Blair is a GOOD thing?
After his willing collusion with the Chimp in lying about Iraq??

4. Are you saying being electable is a BAD thing?
The comparison was based on electability, not policy.

9. I'm being mildly facetious, to tell the truth. Tony did do SOME good things.

I just wonder if America wants someone like that.

Were I American and had to vote for him at the election to avoid a Republican, I would, I suspect. It's just that, like Tony, I have no idea what he's actually going to do. I don't like this.

5. A slight amount of logic, comparison, or reason would be really nice.
I know its cooler to make a one line post and pretend everyone can read your mind.

Perhaps Im the only one DU thats not psychic. Care to elaborate?

10. Not an unfair question.

Comparisons:

1. He's populist.

2. He's highly media savvy.

3. He's difficult to pin down on policy.

4. He's spending a great deal of effort courting the opposition vote.

These seem to be his main characteristics. They were also Tony's.

11. That question could mean two things.

Do you mean could a progressive be a president as in run the country or could a progressive be *elected* as president?

If former, yes, if latter... hmmm, I think we may be in one of the few windows of opportunity available to the US for such an event... but if you think it's likely to be difficult to do, I must agree with you.
