Fantastic Diary on John Edwards! Please Read!
Had just about enough
sarantx in Diaries

of deaf ears and inconsequential polls.

Somebody needs to actually pay attention. If it isn't going to be the media, becuase God knows they are putting on a show, it has to be people - the little people. We are ALL 'little' people. We are all just people.

Get a grip, America, you folks with two-story houses and upper middle-class jobs, you are in jeopardy.

It isn't illegal aliens or the war, corporate America or the Euro. It's politics and the Congress. And, it's US. It is those people that have been running it for their benefit for decades, and us voting them into office to let them.

And, ask yourself - what is going to collapse? Their lives and fortunes? Well.. yes - eventually. They are right behind the little guy. They are a heartbeat away from being the vet under the bridge, or the family losing a home, or the little mom/dad trying to make it to next week without the government of some state taking their kids and life. It is the child looking forward in the hallway of a decayed school system, wondering where the light is at the end of that overwhleming tunnel. Standing there knowing that they go home, if they have one, to a mom or dad, or mom and dad, with enough burdens to sink the USS York.

Obama has never known that fear. Clinton helped create it. Edwards is the only one that ever got in the gutter with us and made something right out of pure dread. Every damned time he has a chance.

I have to say that some corporate interests have every right to pursue decency in the legislature, it's just that most of the twisted perspective has to do with those who threaten in the name of greed. It's their brand of 'economy' - not ours.

It takes a free man to know the difference and to make this tangled web right for all.

It takes a free man, who worked his way up, to know the right and wrong of the actual burden of the system.

It takes a free man to recognise the demise of democracy and the real fear that is the 21st century - loss of the free man and the future of all.

Take a minute to reflect and hear the voice of John Edwards. Take a moment to remember that no matter what tax bracket you currently claim, that we are all a hare's breath away from being reduced to equals - not equality.

Take a minute to reflect and ask yourself - If it is wrong for you and your family - if what you see is a system that is sqeezing this democracy to ruin - why in the world would you want those who have not only made it that way, but have everything to gain from keeping that way, be better, as a choice to lead this nation, than a free man who stands up for making the changes needed to usher in a future for not only us, but our future generations?

The establishment wants what they have. And, more. I think it is time to understand what is and change the system to provide the best. I happen to believe that John Edwards is the only candidate that sees that pathway.

I want to not only follow him, but be a part of making it happen. I have one vote. With reasonable consideration, I believe that this can be change we believe in and an America we can be proud of. I believe in John Edwards.

You want a tomorrow with confidence?

Then, you should, too.

1. It's a good read. He's our best bet to win the general, and just might make
the best president we've had in a while.

Missed your voice this evening. You are just great and so right about Edwards.

He was in L.A. on Thursday. I saw him and volunteered for him. It was just amazing. He is always in form, always energetic.

30. But why can't he use the Word "Change' more often?
Or talk about his thirty five years of experience?

Doesn't he want change?

And if you are advocating Edwards, you must not want a woman in the WH.
Of a black man. So aren't you being racist, sexist and against change?

14. He's a free man
that's the biggest difference between Edwards and the other two front runners.

We've already seen how obligations to corporate donors had such a chilling effect on the current Dem majority in Congress. I don't want to see the same thing happen with a Dem in the White House.

15. Which would you rather have?
Pointless attrition over quotes and misquotes as the two major players eat up their only credible bases trying to impress the myth-struck masses or get behind the issues of a candidate who is not stumbling and distracting the nation away from what is strikingly wrong and threatening to each and every human being with common senses and responsibility?

When Edwards moves to the front, people and people issues move to the front. More than attacks on gratuitous tactical statements and blunders by uber celebrities it will have to be the truth and the people on the front lines for a sharp agenda for change to match the horrors of these past years- and actual hope for a future of hope with the horrors confronted and removed. The people will be given a choice not mostly a seat in the audience for a popularity contest on the high road to gridlock. Gridlock between bi-partisan caucuses who do not represent anything except tiny discredited elites covering their disasters with your bucks and bodies. Gridlock with like-minded mild- but more competent and responsible- kowtowers to renegade corporations in a system driven mad by license over law.

Edwards leads and we are there in reality waiting to be acknowledde by our faux news services. The disquieting campaigns of the others are flickering shadows over substance by comparison, already beset with negativity and vulnerabilities within their strongest claims, a performance that has been given a lot of scrutiny and found wanting for a year that otherwise automatically awards a generic Dem a victory- if there were no active fraud and criminality to thwart it, especially if largely unchallenged. Dean has gone after vote suppression. Edwards is outspoken for paper ballots. Clinton and Obama almost state it is all OK, they will win anyway- as they let the remaining votes peel away in their personal match-up of foot-shooting,and strategic moves that rile our bases. Bases they really don't want to promise much in the quest for delegates. Leadership is often postponed for the sake of nomination, but unfortunately things discovered are means uncovered for the GOP to use. The patterns of pols are like concrete chameleons. They are not as crafty or flexible as anyone might expect or wish for. What you see is what you will get from here to the end of the dismal first term.

With Edwards what you see on the campaign is THE issues up front along with the people, less BS, less vulnerability to misquotes because the MSM shrinks from the words about the truth they fail to report. We will not see the possible strange spectacle of three faux GOP choices in the fall, none of them really representing the committed sane people of either Republican or Democrats. From Bush crony to "independent in name only mild GOP" to possibly a Democrat in ill-fitting GOP clothing. How about a full force, great Democratic Wing campaigner with no electoral iffiness built in and declining?

27. YES
I am sooo mad at how the MSM refuses to cover him.... and unless he wins a state soon, they will appear to be vindicated (it ios a self-fulfilling thing). He is the only one who recognizes that we need to FIGHT the corporate interests if we are to save our democracy... and the corporate interests who OWN the press are doing their part to make sure he does not get the nod.

AAUGH. Any Dem represents some progress... but i fear only Edwards will work to salvage our democracy. maybe one of the others will surprise me. maybe.

I honestly believe this is a defining moment in our nation's history. We need a strong leader who is committed to restoring all that has been lost during the past seven years, and John Edwards is the person to do it.

31. Edwards is a tough and successful plaintiff's lawyer.
Who has represented many poor and horribly injured people, against huge evil corporations, and won, fairly. He won when judged by a jury of twelve people.

Most people don't know that plaintiff's lawyers gamble by paying all their litigation expenses up front, which can run into many thousands of dollars. They don't take dog cases.

Plaintiff's lawyers are the only people who help those injured or killed by the negligence of a big corporation even the outcome, and make the corporation pay for their negligence. It's the only way to get their attention -- hit them in the pocketbook.

Most corporations are run by people who are so stupid they would rather pay out hundreds of millions of dollars in damages in wrongful death suits and bad publicity, than pay $8 on each car they make to make the gas tank safer. I'm referring to Ford and the Pinto with its easy-to-explode-in-rear-crashes gas tanks. Lee Iacocca admitted as such.
