Two debates left to go! Both are on CNN
January 21, 2008 - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
The Congressional Black Caucus and CNN will host a debate in South Carolina.

January 31, 2008 – Hollywood, California
The Los Angeles Times, Politico, and CNN will host a Democratic debate in Hollywood, California, at the Kodak Theatre.

Critical primary dates near those debates:

Saturday, January 26
After South Carolina Republicans moved their primary to Jan. 19 to skip ahead of Florida, Democrats advanced theirs by three days for the same purpose.

Tuesday, February 5
More than 20 states have scheduled their contests for the earliest date allowed by the party without special exception.

3. question?

How many delgates from SC and from Nevada?

You may as well add in Florida as well because all are on ballot and they probably will be seated eventually. How many delegates would there have been?

9. I left Florida out on purpose
Last I checked, Florida unfortunately doesn't count.

4. as a Californian it feels good to be a part of feb 5th
like our Primary counts for the first time in my life .

Looking at all those delegates, I understand why some would
like a rotating primary where each state gets to count .

10. I hope this is the last super front-loaded day for a while
There is no way most candidates can compete in media markets like California (which has about 35) and New York (which has about 20) as well as all the other states on the same day.

I'm glad Cali has a say this year though. As a person who lived there (SF) for a while, the primary season was for watching other states do the action.

5. If Feb. 5th doesn't decide anything, expect more debates.

6. I can see why Hillary has a heads up with like 850 delegates from

NY NJ and California.

Those are 3 big states where she may take a lion share of those 850 delegates i think.

12. The strategy each campaign chooses should be interesting
No one has the money to run a full campaign in every state. They will focus on the big states , obviously, but which smaller states they target will be interesting. Edwards and Clinton will be in Missouri so that suggests Missouri is one smaller state on their lists.

13. It's going to be quite a day
Talk about political stories... February 5th is going to be a historic day that will be analyzed for years.
