Has the Culinary Union announced Obama as winner of the Casino Caucus yet?
The Fix is in, so why wait for the caucus to announce the "result"?

9. Suppress the vote? You mean like voters standing around in a public room and .....
...making their choice as their employers and union leaders menacingly glare at them? That what you mean by vote suppression?

13. I dont think the employers will be, its the union reps.

If they wanted to show a degree of impartiality and demonstration of fairness, a suggestion would be that union reps could have caucused at a different location than the ordinary workers.

Lose the secret ballot and the republic will die.

3. lol, wouldnt it be funny if he didnt and they all voted as they wanted
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 12:38 PM by sunonmars

You never know but I am quite sure there will campaign supervisors there watching for the slightest hint of cheating.

If the numbers are way too lopsided from those precincts then you'll know theres been horseplay.

Statistically in a large precinct like that, if its like 90% 10%, then I'd suspect something.

21. Did the Democrats VOTE on this?
Or did the party leaders cobble out the plan and come to an agreement? I dunno. But this is the first time it's been tried. What looks like a good idea can turn out to have unforeseen kinks. This one has some beauts.

17. “The lady told all of us: Nobody can go to the caucus unless you’re voting for Obama,”
On top of that, Angers and DeFalco said, the reps handed Antuna an Obama pledge card, telling her she had to sign it to participate in the caucus and that today was the deadline.

“The lady told all of us: Nobody can go to the caucus unless you’re voting for Obama,” Angers said. “They have no right to do what they did. This is America. You should be able to vote for who you feel like. It doesn’t matter who the union is endorsing. They can try to persuade us but it doesn’t mean people have to vote for them.”

The pro-Obama newspaper ran an update: Obama quickly had a Union Head to announce the Union had investigated the Union and found the Union was Not Guilty.

18. Well, this process is NOT secret.
And now it's in the presence of co-workers and supervisors. And I'm glad to know that your preference for Obama would survive a supervisor's preference for Hillary or Edwards. That you would muster the strength and fearlessness necessary to talk down the person in charge of your shift assignments and overtime and win your caucus to your side.

22. No, telling union workers they can't caucus UNLESS they're for Obama
is a fix.

Some would call that undemocratic. Would you?

The teachers who live in million dollar condos can vote at the casino sites?

11. when the union backed hillary everything was cool
then the union figured out that mark penn was a union busting scumbag. so as any good union would do,they decided that hillary did`t have their best interest at heart so they switched.

so if a union is backing hillary they are a ok` but if a union doesn`t then they are crimnals. hmm seems logical to me

She's been ahead in NV for months. Obama winning there would be a huge upset.

by looking at the percentages from the at large sites.

If they are so lopsided then i think there will definitely be accusations.

Lets just wait and see.

24. Stop smearing the union, and by extension, Obama. The hypocrisy
of attacking Obama for remarks on Reagan, while at the same time engaging in union bashing is quite apparent.

26. Good luck with that.
Obama supporters were happy to bash the teachers union for daring to protest the unfairness of the casino caucus set up.

Hypocrites much?

We always ask our two year old "What does a baby crying sound like." She says, cutely, "Wah wah!"

I guess we have a new answer for her, though.

29. promoting right-wing spin about union "bosses" is not smart
and we'll all - or all of us who care about the future of working people in this country - pay for it when we actually get a President who will sign Employee Free Choice Act.
