If The Race Ends Up Being Clinton vs. Romney
I think you're going to be seeing a lot of young people staying home.

I think you're going to be seeing another 50/50 election.

I think you're going to be seeing a lot of charges of voter fraud and election rigging.

I think you're going to be hearing the same old ads and same arguments we've heard for the last 25 years in presidential races.

I other words, if it's Clinton vs. Romney, expect a replay of the Gore v. Bush race, or the Clinton v. Dole race.

In other words, just press the reset button on your VCR (if you still have one) - nothing will have changed.

If they nominate McCain or Fuckabee we have a problem.

And that's the case whether I vote in my home state of Michigan or in Pennsylvania where I go to school.

12. I see that here in PA.
Romney has some roots here in the Delaware Valley. School buddies. If he can put up even a strong showing here, the state will fall.

4. Even if it is Clinton vs. McCain.
I agree. The youth and African Americans stay home. The independents vote GOP.

If I'm wrong, I'll eat these words. But I feel pretty confident that I won't have to.

11. I'll vote Clinton, but I'm not helping.
I don't have money available for more for the same.

She'll win, and we'll lose the majority in congress. We can't hold those seats in red areas on her coat-tails.
So I would predict four years of a GOP Congress obstructing anything she wants to make progress on, and I don't say that because I hate Hillary Clinton. I also predict a boom market for "Why Liberals Eat Babies" type books.

Either scenario reminds me of Mondale/Ferraro vs Reagan/Bush

I heard on the news a week or two ago that Bloomberg's people believe that the match up that would provide Bloomberg the best shot at the white house is Hillary versus Bloomberg.

34. Do you mean that Bloomberg's "best shot ... is HIllary versus Romney"?
I agree that if it were Clinton versus Bloomberg, with Bloomberg having the Republican line, Bloomberg would win -- but fortunately the Republicans would never do something like that.

32. I think young women will come out in droves for Clinton.
I think it will be a major Dem victory 56-44.

I think there will be charges of voter fraud. False ones, as this is the Republicans' false pretext for election rigging. You will see election rigging by the Republicans--as much as they can possibly get away with.

Same old ads, same old arguments...I certainly hope we see the same old arguments. We are winning them, and they are important arguments. They wouldn't be going away if the race was Kucinich vs. Ron Paul either.

It won't be a replay of Gore v. Bush. But if it is Clinton vs. Dole that is fine.

35. I agree that women will come out in droves for Hillary
but that might be offset by all the men who would come out to vote against her. Plus the Independents who don't like her.

I don't think Hillary would do any better than Kerry did with Independents, and I doubt she would do much better with young people.

33. Nonsense. Clinton will clobber that robot.
Romney is the worst candidate the Republicans have this year. He has no personality, he lies constantly, his religion is off-putting to fundies, he's flip-flopped on every issue they care about. I would be thrilled if he won their nomination.

39. Romney names his VP Jeb Bush!!!

Bush family hedges its bets for 2008
By Alexander Bolton
March 26, 2007

Much of Jeb’s inner circle has picked Romney. The list includes Sally Bradshaw, who served as Gov. Bush’s campaign manager in 1994 and 1998 and as his first gubernatorial chief of staff; Ann Herberger, who was the governor’s campaign finance director; and Mandy Fletcher, who recently headed Bush’s think tank, Foundation for Florida’s Future, and worked on his reelection. In addition, Alan Philp, Bush’s former policy director, is coordinating policy and issues for Romney.

Jeb Bush’s former lieutenant governor Toni Jennings, Al Cardenas, who served as Florida GOP chairman under Jeb, David Griffin, who headed Jeb’s second -term transition office and was the Florida Lottery Secretary, Sherri McVay, executive director of Jeb’s statewide advocacy council, and Kristy Campbell, the former governor’s press secretary, are all playing roles in Romney’s campaign.
