Hillary Clintons Delegate Problem
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 07:37 PM by Bleachers7
This stuff about Hillary losing the delegate count is a shot across the bow for the GE. She might win the popular vote, but she'll never win the electoral college. We've been warned.

6. She doesn't have a delegate problem - we have an election problem!
Iowa had a strange count too - get rid of caucases and paperless machines already! And electoral colleges.

12. Same thing could happen in states that award delegates by congressional district
like NY, for example. A candidate could lose the statewide vote but win a majority of districts and take the number of delegates. No one has ever complained about that.

It's hard to believe pollsters ask folks their sexual orientation and I find it even harder to believe they ask folks if they are transgendered?

Details of the Nominating Process

Democrats

Caucus (Closed)
33 delegates at stake
On Jan. 19, party caucuses meet in each precinct to choose delegates to county conventions. The delegates selected are not bound to any candidate. At the county conventions on Feb. 23, delegates to the state convention are chosen. They are not bound to any candidate. The state convention is April 18-20, during which delegates choose 25 of the 33 delegates to the national convention. Sixteen of the 25 delegates are allocated proportionally to presidential candidates based on the support for the candidates in each of the state’s three Congressional districts. Nine delegates are allocated to candidates based on the support among all of the delegates attending the convention. The remaining eight unpledged delegates are chosen from party leaders.

Which red states or swing states is Hillary going to win? She's so disliked across the country. And think about this. Hillary has 0 wins that count. She tied delegates in NH and lost NV and IA.

28. These delegates and their selection have absolutely nothing to do with how...
...the electoral college works.

The former is a political party controlled scheme and explains why it is so fucked up.

The latter is constitutionally mandated and detailed and...uh, it also is fucked up

But, I repeat - except for both being fucked up, the two schemes do not resemble each other in any other way nor can they have any effect on each other.
