I was told Edwards talking about mill workers was a "cliche!"

I really have to state that I think a huge swath of Americans have truly lost touch with what is real...Someone I was talking to actually stated that Edwards talking about mill workers was a "cliche." It is truly sad when Americans see the discussion of poverty, the poor, and working Americans getting screwed as a "cliche." So this is my response to that: The "war on terror" is a damn cliche, not standing up for those mill workers, carpenters, miners, teachers, service workers, and all working Americans who get up every day at the crack of dawn and work to sunset for crap wages and crap healthcare coverage they pay out the ass for or none at all. I don't think standing up for working Americans, Veterans, and the forgotten poor in this country is a cliche at all, and it is about damned time we had a candidate who was willing to POUND THAT MESSAGE into the heads of eltist prigs who think THEY run this show.

As Mr. Edwards says, we need to be patriotic about something other than war and I personally hope he stays in all the way up to the convention, because when Clinton or Obama either start to stumble or tear each other apart it may just be the tables turning to John Edwards to be the one to either make it or break it. He has nothing else to lose now by staying in and everything to lose by dropping out.

And in all honesty I hope he stays on to spite the nasty vindictive attitude of those who base voting in this country on media popularity, electronic voting machine results that can be hacked, soundbites, polls, dirty tricks, and corporate ass kissing. Obama constantly puts up banners with "Yes we can" on it. Yes we can what? Talk about cliches. And what of Hillary Clinton? What is her message? "Change?" One word doesn't make a policy.

Poverty and climate change are reality not cliches, and I'm sticking with John Edwards and as reported he already stated he will stay in past South Carolina even if he "loses" there. Perhaps that is because this is that important to him. What is important to Obama and Clinton now really but just trying to be the "historical" winner because of their race and gender? Where are their issues? So to those who think John Edwards talls in cliches, you need to step away from the TV and look at the real America.

1. Who told you that? Someone who's not going hungry or homeless? Who's
got adequate heat to stay warm this winter? Someone who's a total joke when it come to what the Democratic Party is really supposed to be about?

2. People I talk to in my daily meetings...
I talk to people on the street and in other places where I meet them just to get a sense of what they feel and that is where I was told this as well as on some other sites on the Internet. And believe me, if you go to malls and actually talk to people, the ignorance regarding issues will astound you. I'm tempted to do a poll with people and ask them two questions: one about policy and one about who won American Idol. I can almost already predict what question will get the most answers. It is very frustrating.

3. Maybe Edwards should replace the word....
mill with factory. I'm not sure the younger generation can relate to mill workers or perhaps even factory workers because they have all become "service workers". I am one who hopes he stays in the race until the end. If Hillary should get knocked out he is my next choice.

5. So true....And this may then be the last time I get involved in any political campaign
After seeing how the corporate media disposes of those who don't tow their line with such ease and how people, even people HERE are so quick to dismiss them as well, I am fed up with it all.

6. There was nothing wrong with Edwards referring to his "mill"
background. However, from a strategical standpoint, I believe that he mentioned it too often.
