You are a true inspiration and make me proud to support the Edwards Campaign. You are a wonderful example of what a real "feminist" should be and an inspiration to all mothers,wives and women everywhere.Thank you for all your efforts and never, ever let the meanies get you down.

This is what we need more of - direct linkage to John & Elizabeth. Nothing motivates the troops like direct contact with the Future First Lady & President of the United States of America.

I'm reading her book now. It's amazing, as is she.

Elizabeth is the reason I joined DU. I had lurked here a bit, but was afraid to join so close to the election because I thought everyone would think I was a mole or troll or whatever. Then, one weekend in late October, I was watching Elizabeth on Cspan and was so moved by her. She seemed so intelligent and honest and so refreshingly real. I came on to DU that day and saw a thread about her and signed up so I could comment on it. That was my first post on DU-October 25, 2004.

Reading her book this weekend, I was struck by that memory and that date. It was four days after she felt the lump in her breast. My memory of her that day is so vivid and to realize now what she was going through just blows my mind. There is only one word for it...

We can't say enough kind words about Elizabeth. She just blows me away with her insight and fearlessness. With Elizabeth as our First Lady, the U.S. would have a woman with dignity, compassion, and intellect in thier corner. We love the thoughts of the entire Edwards family in the White House. I mention to him that probably with her health condition it would be a bad idea. Stress would be terrible to add to the cancer.

But I am amazed at her for being so much a part of the campaign. That is a major stressor as well. We are praying night and day that this nasty stuff goes into remission. ASAP

I have always been a huge fan of Elizabeth Edwards, as I am of the man that she (being an unusually wise and smart woman, after all) was savvy enough to marry and raise children with, and the ongoing actions on both of their parts to raise up the least amongst us make me proud to be able to call myself a fellow American of theirs. Were I a woman or had I a daughter, I could think of no better role model for either of us to hold in our hearts and heads than Elizabeth Edwards. And even though I am chromosomically deprived and do not have that particular option available to me myself and I, yr hmbl crspndnt will still gladly testify to the high level of esteem that I always have and will continue to hold when it comes to that good person.
