Clinton camp slams Obama
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/01/20/two-against-one/#more-3918

"In response, the Clinton campaign said in a statement: “We understand Senator Obama is frustrated by his loss in Nevada but facts are facts. Senator Obama’s allies in Nevada engaged in strong-arm tactics and intimidation against our supporters and his record against the war has been inconsistent.”
The statement goes on to say: “President Clinton is a huge asset to our campaign and will continue talking to the American people to press the case for Senator Clinton.”

10. He has.
He wants to confront Clinton one-on-one about the distortions.
The Clinton camp is distorting their distortions.

29. So Obama should sit down and shut up like a good boy, right?
This is why the Clintons are dishonest. They won't say the real reason Hillary is running for president: She's running for BILL'S THIRD TERM!

2. so Hillary's record on Iraq has also been consistent, hmmmmm
If her campaign wants to open up this as an issue, i.e. Obama's inconsistency on Iraq, they had better look hard and long into the mirror

6. Hillary has been consistent. Afterall, isn't that why so many
of us Dems hate her so? She wouldn't apologize for her IRW vote and she introduced legislation to hold Bush's feet to the fire and she has consistently spoken out against the war while consisstently supporting the troops. What your problem?

16. Voting for the patriot act really put bush's feet to the fire
voting for the Kyle/Lieberman position told me that she learned NOTHING from her IWR vote

Incidently, she has NOT spoken consistently about the Iraq war:

http://nymag.com/news/politics/citypolitic/17399/

If she really believed that she was misled on the IWR vote, then she should introduce legislation to repeal it. In fact what the IWR does is invalidate the War Power's Act, which allowed Congressional oversight if the President DID engage in war. Why would anyone vote to take that oversight away?

Only ONE DEMOCRATIC SENATOR VOTED AGAINST THE PATRIOT ACT, and the was Russ Feingold, but in no way does that exonerate any other Democratic senator who voted for it. Again, if they believe the Patriot is wrong why don't they introduce legislation to repeal it?

HRC is not running as the anti war candidate.....funny thing
has happened, iraq is not the most important item on voters minds, It's the economy, stupid, (had to write that last word) and I do believe I have heard that expression before and it belonged to a Clinton....Seems like it could be used again this time too.....

Where is obama on the economy? I do not know, all I know he is still having people search for those culinary workers, 60,000 of them that were to vote for him.... :hi: hey, over here, I think I see one....................:hide: ....... :hi: hey over there, it could be one :hide: Well hell where are they? Oh I see where they are,,,,,,,,,:grouphug: clinton campaign

22. My friend, when was the last time you filled your car up with gasoline?
The price of oil, DUE TO OUR ILLEGAL war against Iraq, based on a lie, is one of the prime reasons for the high cost of energy today

That cost is reflected in food, and almost everything we buy.

The amount of money being spent in Iraq drains economic resource from our economy.

It is the Iraq, BECAUSE IT HAS A DIRECT NEGATIVE effect on OUR economy

That also has contributed to the economic situation we are feeling

5. you are exactly right
If the Obama camp let's the Clinton camp frame this issue like that. It's going to be a hard row to hoe. Obama needs to respond post haste.

11. The shear "beauty" of the thing is that he can't respond to it.
Otherwise it reinforces the sore loser thing. It isn't easy to out-maneuver the Clinton machine, they have been though all of this before.

20. thats exactly what i said earlier

its going to look like sour grapes because Bill's extra campaigning pushed her over the top in Nevada, Obama knows it and he's furious.

But he took the bait, got annoyed and now the Clintons have got him exactly where they want him. Obama really is a rookie.

8. Which part of that is the slam?
If that's all it takes to get Obama and his people upset then Clinton has nothing to worry about, there ought to be a major melt down any time now.

31. Hello?
Bill can't run for a third term. The American people can see through it and it will cost the Democrats the election and the congress if they continue.

Bill and Hillary's egos will force independent voters to either vote for the Republican or for Bloomberg. Mark my word.

Why did he do it on the eve of a debate when he's not a great debater and Hillary is bound to take him to task.

Should Edwards even bother showing up, coz he won't get a word in edgeways with these two.
