1. I hope so. Wow.
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 09:15 AM by dkf
Guess the clue is that Kerry endorsed.

I kind of think that Kennedy saved Kerry's butt in 04.

He might be very helpful to Obama.

2. Was someone speaking casually, or has a comment come in from one of
Senator Kennedy's staffers that indicated a possible endorsement?

4. No not from one of Kennedy's staffers Mika talking to some Newsweek analyst's, who
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 09:20 AM by EV_Ares
supposedly got it from someone in the Clinton camp. Guess Kennedy is leaning that way but has not made an endorsement yet.

regard to Obama.

gave Bill Clinton "an earful" when Clinton called Kennedy.

20. Really, why do you suppose the Clinton camp is fearful of him endorsing
Obama? I mean of course in a way that they must have got some indication of something that tells them he is thinking about it.

25. Here is the link
When the former president called Kennedy, the Massachusetts Democrat gave Clinton an earful, telling him that he bore some blame for the injection of race into the contest. In any event, both Hillary and Obama made peace on the race issue at the Las Vegas debate. The Clinton camp now fears that Kennedy is leaning toward Obama, according to the Clinton source, though Kennedy's office says he is making no endorsement "at this time."

45. Here is how
1. First you open a bracket (I can't type it in because on DU it would disappear)

Then type: div class="excerpt" (This is enclosed in the bracket set)

Close that bracket

2. Copy in the text

3. Open a bracket at the end

Type: /div

Close that bracket

And you're all set.

21. You know the endorsement may not come for a while but Alter must have a pretty
good indication it is going to happen. You just don't throw those things out unless you know and especially, you are not going to connect Ted Kennedy's name to any endorsement unless you have something.

35. A Personal Note: When I returned from the Central Highlands..I decided to do my Masters work
on the campaign of RFK. (and may I thank all of your Moms & Dads, because THEY were the taxpayers who PAID for the Vietnam G.I. bill !)

Here's what I know about The Kennedy Clan, from that period,as some insight into EMK's thinking:
Always look to the OLD SURROGATES (i.e. Harris Wofford,Ted Sorenson, and one COULD even include Jeff Greenfield, who was an advance man for RFK in 1968 California Primary-though he is neutralized by his media position)

All though both in their 80's now, Sorenson and Wofford have been out & about for Obama.
These guys STILL take their collective marching orders from Hyannis port.

47. Thanks for that post, the Kennedys' are such a great family
family who has sacrificed more than anyone for this country in blood and what they have all given to this country and still giving.

Yeah when you see Ted Sorenson and them doing that, for me that is enough, I am on the right track.

No Masters here, got my bachelors in social work, that would have been a great paper on the Kennedys' you did and so interesting to do, love to read about them.

To have JFK and RFK's brother speak up for Obama...I can't say enough how incredible that would be.

Just think how Obama would feel to get that endorsement. Wow. I hope it comes true.

On Kennedy's part, I would guess he would endorse if he really was worried about Hillary getting the nomination.

And it looks to me like the threat is if Bill doesn't pipe down, Kennedy will have to step it up.

The public wants to know what Democrats are going to do to fix this country not beat each other silly in the process. "Wheres the beef"? I think he is right and Big Dog is forgetting that public issues trump personal issues. I think Teddy is trying to remind him there is a line.

Wow if thats a recent picture Teddy looks good.

.... what will prospective voters think if they see a candidacy as a family effort? All the single mothers would be turned off.

Has anyone told the other candidates?

43. Better For Clinton If He Does, And I hope He Does
If we were to get him and few more over on the great ship titanic err Obama, then we single handedly can silence some of the most polarizing figures of the party once and for all. If you want to beat a Republican In November, Mr. Chappaquiddick is not the endorsement you are looking for. Just More fodder for the right. But I for one like how Mr. Change keeps racking up more and more of the party stalwarts who are the poster children of status quo. Ted kennedy for change, now that is funny. He had his balls removed decades ago.
